Tough choice, Tefler. Every one of the main characters being as like-able as they are is a big part of why I love the story. I chose Calara though since, of them all, she has proven to be quite perfect for John .

As much as I wish we could vote for everyone for me it came down to either Dana or Rachel. Unfortunately for the good Doctor, I had to go with her partner in crime. Dana reminds me of my fellow countrymen, Australians. Seriously, she is so laid back most of the time, wears her heart on her sleeve, uses an extensive vernacular and creates works of art out of next to nothing. Still holding out hope for my dream PR team of Lauren from the Gravitus market and Jehanna from TFNN.

I was gonna say Dana! Actually it's such a tough choice, every single one of them I like a lot, maybe the only thing I have trouble getting past is Jade being green. Just cuz Sakura is low doesn't mean she isn't one of my faves. Calara, Rachael, Faye ah ALL written well.

I actually voted awhile ago, but couldn't comment because Patreon apparently doesn't like the PC I was using at the time. I voted for the Karron girls, they're just awesome. Alyssa with her power level over 9000, and Dana with her attitude and personality. I loved how Dana summed up the enlistment conditions when she first came aboard.

Hi T, an alternative conclusion of this survey is that a majority likes all of the Invictus harem girls. Picking a favorite was initially challenging, though Dana's ribald in your face manner certainly separates her as the most unique and uh... stimulating. Perhaps you can find opportunity to bring depth to all the girls bringing forth their own but different seductive qualities.

Thanks everyone for leaving feedback! This survey served a few purposes, and the results have been fascinating. Firstly I was simply curious who you guys liked. It seems you like your girls foul-mouthed and upbeat! :-) Faye was a big surprise coming in second, as was Irillith at fourth place. Considering the hate Irillith received when she first joined the crew, it's nice to see how much that has turned around! Secondly I was thinking about personalities for characters in the next story I write, so I wondered what was working and what didn't. I don't plan to just crank out another Dana mkII, but it was interesting to see what character traits people were drawn to. Special thanks to everyone who left a comment above!

The response rate is awesome, but not quite as good as the figures initially suggest. The 376 votes are a tally for all the girls scores, and many people above mentioned that they clicked on several. :-) I'd guess more like around half that responded, but that's still excellent and has been really useful.

Tefler, what I find interesting (indeed amazing) is that this poll has been running now for only about 24 hours and 375 of 468 of your patrons have responded already. That's 80% - a ludicrously high response rate! Any survey company would kill for these sort of stats. It just shows what a wonderful tale it is that you're telling to elicit such a response from your passionate readers. It's a credit to you for writing such a fantastic story and I think you should feel justifiably proud of yourself. Tefler, it is interesting that Jade is now currently precisely in the middle of the pack whereas prior to this, as you say, she was number one. Personally, I stand by my previously posted ratings.

I am waiting for the edraele and Luna (plus other two assasins whose names I cant remember ATM. Bad fan) encounter with John. They are going to get their bells rung but good. Personally I think edraele needs to figure out the mind link with her 3 (2 way comms like Alyssa has) and John needs to give those three the 3sm crew special treatment, sakura style. Make them into the super ninjas they almost are. That would be epic.

I had to go for Dana and Rachel because they're just too adorable together and Jade because of her pure devotion to John and her unquestioning love and support of all of the girls (including Alyssa) and her complete disregard for what anyone other than John thinks of her. The world would be much nicer place if there were more people like Jade in it (personality-wise not the sex slave aspect I mean)

Because they have the same body type I vote for the alien girls, variety is the spice of life and no hair color is not inaf ;P Oh yeah I wait for that reporter too, not necessarily as mate but some sexual fun is necessary there. P.S. Waiting for more casual encounters like with Maliri engineers there's no need to adding everyone as mate but some fun why not and not only fun for John :)

The polling is working just fine. I was able to vote for all nine without any issue! SO hard to value one over another! I'd put Alyssa / Jade at the top, followed closely at the top by Calara/ Dana / Rachel, just before my number one pick being Irillith / Faye / Sakura, who just ekes out being in front of Edraele! Each of them is a 10 out of 10!

Fae is my fav. I really hope she will get a 'mobile platform' in the future, something like a cybernetic or cloned/cyborg body. She would fully be one of John's girls then :)

FYI - polling not working. I'm still with Alyssa and Dana (but I liked it better when she was called Sparks!l, and Calara has geown on me (former milutary myself). I gotta say that I liked when Irilith was still fiesty, I would have loved to read about John tenderizing her ass into submission...the hard way. Love nonhuman so I can't wait to read about Jade getting pounded as a 'catwoman'. Faye would be interesting in an android body, or maybe Rachel can grow one for her. (Maybe you can have her downloaded onto a memory stick and uploaded into Sakura's electronuc brain to test drive having a body?) But...what about Athena? You gotta keep her around too!!! P.S. I'd love to read about John pounding the "nice rack" reporter into the next century!

Definitely difficult to pick one. Right now it's Dana because I'm a techie, and the way she can merge all the technologies together to upgrade the ship & the gear is phenomenal! Sakura is my next pick because I'm anticipating all the "natural" Progenitor upgrades to her body that will make Shinatobe pale in comparison. Being a martial arts freak & into manga/manhwa/anime series like Dragon Ball & The Breaker, I'm excited for her potential. I know Calara has already grown leaps & bounds in the martial arts arena, but I suspect extra with Sakura now that John knows how to focus the development.

Very difficult to pick one. They are all great and well developed characters. Main trouble in picking just one is that each character compliments the next. To have any of them missing would be like having a puzzle with a missing piece.

Top 3 = Rachel, Faye and Dana. Rachel because i'm in a medical profession so i can really relate to her, and i love reading about all the exciting cures and therapies she can create within such a short time span! Especially loved the last two chapters with all the wounded, and can't wait for her to develop other cures. Faye because she has grown so much, and has this sense of innocence that none of the other girls seem to have, and because she is always so cheerful! And Dana, because who doesn't have a weakness for redheads? ;)

Up until a few chapters ago I would have gone with Dana. Now I absolutely had to vote for Faye. Listening to her inner dialogue is fascinating, especially the parts that revolve around John (most of it). ~Morningfrost

The variety of personality types and relationship dynamics is one of the great strengths of this story. Alyssa, Calara, Rachel and Edraelle are a little too vanilla for my taste, with the exception of the sparring sessions with Calara. I find Dana, Faye, Jade and Sakura much more interesting. I don't know what to make of Irillith yet: she hasn't really emerged from the shadow of events, but I expect she will over the next couple of chapters.

Tefler, I don't think you realise what a difficult poll this is. You've done such a wonderful job with developing these characters that I feel I know them better than I know some members of my family! Trying to pick which is best is like choosing between Chocolate Mud Cake, Blackforest Cake or anything else chocolate! I think you'll appreciate my dilemma. I love Dana's irreverence, Calara's feistiness, Rachel's quiet competence, Jade's quirkiness etc. etc. I'm also really looking forward to seeing how you'll be moving forward with Faye. Sakura is still a bit of an unknown quantity and I think there's still a lot to learn about Irrilith & Edraele. I love them all. But I've had to go with Alyssa due to the way she looks after the girls & John, her insane powers (and I suspect there's more to come) and her loving, generous but mischievous nature coupled to a fiercely protective instinct akin a mother grizzly bear protecting her cubs.

I enjoy them all very much really enjoyed the temperament of Irillith in the beginning and then the struggles to come to the fun side. But I also like the innocence on Faye even though she is an AI Construct. The rest are all equal after that to me.

I voted Rachel because I think she has the most potential for growth and who's area of science I have the least real understanding for.
