The Invictus - Terran Federation Assault Cruiser

There's a game called Avorion, where you build your own ship to look like whatever you want it to. There's all sorts of options, and you can build it to a wide range of sizes. You could definitely build an Invictus image in that game and screenshot it

Like the Deutschland class concept, but personally consider it a Very heavy cruiser or pocket battlecruiser instead of a pocket battleship. The British flipped when they seen its 11 inch guns, but ignored its other stats. It was designed around a cruiser hull, which includes its armor layout. It was built for taking on escort cruisers, with speed to evade the heavier hitting battleships where possible, to accomplish this they went for a more standard cruiser layout rather then an armored battleship scheme. Now the Scharnhorst/Gniesenau sister ships are what i would consider closer to pocket battleship or a Battlecruiser done right. Good firepower, with great speed and armor. Only thing i could see making them better is if they had their 15" gun concept to start with instead of the lower pen 11" guns they were originally given. The same 15" guns on the Bismarck and Tirpitz. May have even made their commerce raiding mission easier as they kept coming across escort battleships they couldn't take on because of the smaller main guns. Sorry if this is abit long or "wall of text," I just really like german WW2 era ships. =P Despite my lack of knowledge on some of the lesser known designs they had, the amount of engineering and thought put into their ships fascinates me in a way that british and some american designs never could. Not sure about those pics as early chapters describe the shape of the Invictus as resembling a Terran Shark

Now that the Invictus is being stretched and getting a massive weapons upgrade can it really be thought of as an Assault Cruiser anymore? It might not be large enough to be considered a Dreadnought or Battleship. Hey, this almost looks like the eve online minmatar battlecruiser Hurricane. Guess its just a great design silhouette to follow!

I thought the invictus would be bigger with gun decks much akin to a star destoryer. This remainds me of the Gora class cruiser from Dreadnaught.
