Status update
Added 2024-07-01 02:48:05 +0000 UTCHey everyone,
I've been incapacitated with health issues again this month, leading to multiple hospital visits.
Caution for the squeamish, medical details to follow:
***
Both legs suddenly swelled up, and developed purple bruising all along first my right shin, then my left, which was alarming to say the least. It got so painful that I was barely able to walk.
The doctor was concerned it might be sepsis, but after an endless series of tests, including x-rays, ultrasounds, and a number of others, I was eventually diagnosed with a severe case of Cellulitis.
I've been on antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and a course of steroids for the last few weeks, and I'm finally able to limp around without too much discomfort. I've had to keep my legs elevated as much as possible, which has made writing impossible until recently.
Still no news on when I might be scheduled for the gall-bladder surgery, as I'm still stuck on the interminably long waiting list.
***
I've been working on chapter 169 and written another 8k of combat scenes. The battle isn't quite finished yet, but I'll hopefully finish it very soon. I'll upload the latest version in a separate post.
Best wishes,
Tefler

Although I generally enjoy a majority of your comments, it’s seems you’re quite the cheeky little fucker when you want to be, eh? Carry on then, you pompous cheeky bastard you. 😎

2024-08-28 21:17:09 +0000 UTCTefler, can you give us an update? It’s already the 28th and we haven’t heard from you in a while. Any chance we’ll be seeing more of, or preferably a completed chapter this month? WITHOUT more placeholders, please!!! 🙏 It would be AMAZING 🤩 if you delivered the rest of 170 and 171 this month. It’s been too long since you gave us something to binge read. 😅

2024-07-20 00:50:45 +0000 UTCTefler, we all want you to regain your health and well being. PLEASE look into homeopathic remedies. Holistic health includes a whole food diet, detoxing heavy metals and parasites. You can regain your health in record time if you focus on bringing your body into balance and letting your body heal itself. Western medicine will attack the symptoms. Holistic health focuses on the root causes and allows your body to heal itself.

2024-07-19 19:48:06 +0000 UTCDear Tefler, can you please check with "get well soon" portal. in Priory hospital they are privately charging @7500 or near by but I ofcourse I don't know how much serious is your current status. However my point is there are good private hospitals in UK where you can get treated early in place of crying so long and getting the health issue prolonged which will further bring other health issues. Get well soon.

2024-07-08 20:45:18 +0000 UTC--- this past year, I too have been medically advised to elevate my legs to aid my healing, ... this procedure ruins the rest of your life, ... you can only watch television, and have quite limited computer activities, -- like Tef's writing wouldn't have been possible until he got much better, ... anyway, we can at least wish him well, ... thanks for your TSM, love all of John's girls, and John is not too bad either, .... keep up the good work, .... ;-) ttfn

2024-07-03 19:38:02 +0000 UTCIs it possible to get medical treatment someplace else? You've been waiting so long... Honestly reading about this year's long saga with the medical establishment makes me glad I decided to visit Finland instead of England this spring.

2024-07-02 05:05:14 +0000 UTCFairly certain he times his posts to be right before close of month for Patreon purposes. Payments are processed beginning at midnight PST on the first of the month. He posts about two to two an half hours prior to that. Cynically, seems to me that he is either writing everything he gives us at the last minute, staying up until near dawn to finish so he has something to bill, or he's waiting until almost the last minute so the majority of his subs can't quit after they get what he does deliver, before he charges his placeholders. Probably a little of both, if I was a betting man.

2024-07-01 20:26:29 +0000 UTCYou have my sympathies - I am a long time sufferer of bouts of cellulitis. In my experience, a week or two on the right antibiotics gets rid of the infection, but walking can be hard for another week or two, as the thickened skin returns to its new normal. However, being completely wiped out can last a week or two more after that. Personally, I carry a course of antibiotics with me all the time, as bouts can recur, and hitting each new bout hard and fast is important. .... BTW, I love your story. It is very gripping - especially the battle scenes.
Stephen Paynter
2024-07-01 19:47:44 +0000 UTCAs soon as you started describing it I knew it was cellulitis. Compression socks help although not sure at what stage. I hope you stay in good spirits and I’m optimistic that you will get better. Thanks for taking the time to write such a fascinating story

2024-07-01 15:13:52 +0000 UTC"The maximum waiting time for non-urgent, consultant-led treatments is 18 weeks from the day your appointment is booked through the NHS e-Referral Service, or when the hospital or service receives your referral letter." -- NHS Website For well over a year, you've been telling us you've been just waiting on surgery. Something doesn't add up. My vote is the source of constant excuses as to why they never do what they say.

2024-07-01 13:46:37 +0000 UTCI feel for Tef. My son has had cellulitis several times. The last two times, he had an antibiotic automatic drip strapped on for 6 weeks, and then another 6 to 8 weeks of antibiotic pills. He certainly was unable to work! I know and can appreciate what you are going through. I hope that everything clears up soon, and that the NHS backlog reduces so youcan have your op. I look forward to the chapters as and when you can complete them.

2024-07-01 12:33:44 +0000 UTCOH NOES FOMO! ! You mean not getting something he's not producing??? One second while I LMAO. Okay, lets just be clear, the past 4 months we have not been a part of "the creative process". As far as I can tell no creative process has occurred, just a whole lot of complaints about the situation of his healthcare service, and promises to do better. Well it's been a season of disease, and I'm not here to fund prolonged medical treatments without something more than a promise. That's what a gofundme is for. I'm out.

2024-07-01 09:39:36 +0000 UTCI was like most people suffering from multiple health issues and came to that point of giving up. Then a good friend slapped me around and told me to try the carnivore diet. He said it will not kill you to just eat meat for two weeks and see how it makes you feel. At the end of that time I swung myself out of bed that morning to think is anything different. Yes I hadn’t done my stretching exercises to overcome my pain that I had gathered over 30 years of military and car accidents. Pain free is amazing!!! Read Dr gundry’s book the plant paradox. Watch utube Dr Ken Berry, Dr Anthony Chaffee and Dr Shawn Baker. I’ve been pain free for over two years, all my heart scans have seen my blockages clear, it has been a new life for me. It goes against common doctrine but when you get to the bottom of the barrel why not try.

2024-07-01 07:36:08 +0000 UTCAnyone who is losing their minds over placeholders - why not cancel for a year and come back? You won’t pay anything! But you can’t - because that would mean not getting the latest stories. I suspect these negative comments make the situation worse, so on behalf of the rest of us: write your own 170 stories at this level of quality, then you can show us how it’s done. The rest of us want to support and be part of the creative process that’s what Patreon is supposed to be for

2024-07-01 04:47:51 +0000 UTCYikes, yeah. My wife had cellulitis a few years ago (antibiotic-resistant, even), and it was really not good at all. There was a time when she had to try to sleep with her legs packed in ice at the hospital, and woke up indignant about her dream because penguins and polar bears are not from the same hemisphere. Luckily she's recovered and back in good health now, but it was not a good thing at all.

2024-07-01 04:32:04 +0000 UTCSo this in the UK national health service that many in the U.S. want to have. 18+ months now for simple Gall Bladder surgery? That is insane. Still, more placeholders is b.s.! It’s a crutch that hands turned into a really bad habit. Keep taking money for work that has not been done. That was supposed to end and never did.
Joe Waldvogel
2024-07-01 04:10:05 +0000 UTCBloody hell, Tefler. Sounds like you need new a healthcare system. What you're going through is severely impacting your quality of life, if not outright life threatening. And yet your healthcare system is leaving you in limbo. While it will be wildly expensive, perhaps it is time to consider going to the US and seeking medical care there? I would certainly like to think the US healthcare system won't leave you in limbo like this.

It's good to still see you still posting updates (if not as much as some hope) just wish the comment section wasn't so hostile (respectful words of disappointment is one thing but I've seen some pretty hateful stuff thrown at both those unhappy and those who support) . Hope your health gets better and you finish the story you want told. Thanks for the work you've put in and back to the shadows I go. :)

2024-07-01 03:21:35 +0000 UTCIt's been 18 months, and I'm still waiting for surgery. I don't have private healthcare, and the NHS is on its knees. I went through one round of surgery last year, but the surgeon aborted it half-way through because of infection. I was then referred to a specialist liver hospital, called Hammersmith Hospital in London. I've been there several times for scans and appointments, but they warned me in January that there was at least a 6 month waiting list.

2024-07-01 03:13:20 +0000 UTCHi Tef. I can only imagine the pressure you must feel. You are a victim of your own success, where you have created a world in which so many of your followers are emotionally invested. You have a lot of well-wishers, and your health WILL improve.
