I've been liaising with Cignal on some blueprints for the new version of the Raptor gunship. He also created the schematics for the old version as well as the Invictus, so I'm sure you're already familiar with his incredible work.

2022-09-05 01:52:04 +0000 UTCLooking at the drawings again, there could even be room enough for another pair of guns on the wings, further out, past the thrusters. If a gun was also added to the bottom of the ship, that would increase the guns able to fire forward from 7 to 10, almost 50%. I don't think Dana, Calara, or Jade would complain.

2022-04-08 12:59:56 +0000 UTCSome semblance of aerodynamics while in atmosphere, but mainly to hold the big guns that Dana will eventually mount there. Right now the new Raptor is only armed with the 7 turrets that will provide most of the firepower for the ship, but Dana built in two extra mount points (one in each wing) for a forward facing weapon that will pack more of a punch than the turrets will. Dana still needs to develop that weapon though, and from the dialogue in the story, she's probably leaning towards having them be some form of kinetic weapon to deal with energy resistant armor. Those wings will likely be the ammo storage for those weapons.
