My man. I’m so glad to see less of soul searing and toe curling and all the other bullshit you used to add as filler. But why the hell did you switch to sat words instead? “Devereux carries herself with the same indefatigable confidence” Really dude? Was it even slightly necessary? You can just remove all the annoying filler and the story will be just fine. It would be so much more powerful if you used all the fluff sparingly when it’s really needed instead of just padding and padding and padding. Ugh

Hi Teffler, i'm a great fan of you and TSM such that i had paused reading the latest publications in favor of a 2nd lecture of TSM. Now resuming the lecture of chapter 148 and wondering what is or has happening with the many sideplots (brimorian campaign, the traitor, the Karron survivors, kintark empire, trankaran republic, etc). I loved to read about the sideplots as these stories presented a refreshing break and cooldown from all the magic that John's crew was going through hihi. So wondering if you are thinking about continuing any of the sideplots? cheers and enjoy your time off

Look forward to 149. I remember the days of chapters being 1-2 pages long and they came like john - thick and fast. As the characters developed and the story became more complex we needed more context and hints between action points... sigh could we ever go back to more simple, direct and action oriented chapters?? I doubt it, but if it will help you meet schedule and keep well, maybe just maybe as we march to a couple of crunch points 150 and 151 could be more stripped back and raw???? But then again I'll take anything and be grateful.

While not ideal, and a once off, it will get around the disliked half chapter issue as well as complaints about advance funding! The cliff hangers will be agonising! And if we know a post is likely during a particular week each month I am sure readers will be happier. Would be perfect to get back to a full chapter release each month :)

I'd like to bring up the possibility of Calara's traps for Progenitor fleets including the mothballed Maliri defensive stations that have been mentioned a few times. The sister stations to Genkiri, Genyia, etc. that haven't been used in millennia due to the shrinking Maliri population. I thought the couple of times that Tef mentioned them he was merely emphasizing how badly the Maliri had deteriorated. Now I think he might have been setting the scene for a nasty ambush for an invading Progenitor. What do you guys think?

.112: A bit of speculation here: If Larn'kelnar, on his Dreadnought, had a number of empty storage vats for his 'thrall' juice, and perhaps he did continue to fill some of them before he said f**kit! who needs this, I'm never going back, ... there might be a few filled cum vats still on Rahn'hagon's Dreadnought even now, ... would this be useful to the Laranthyrans? Must it be from a living, breathing Progenitor? Or can the cum form a new network and be transfered to John? Tef should really address a few of these possibilities soon, .... ;-) TTFN

If John decides to claim the Larathyran empire and add Aurelei as the local Matriarch, he’ll need to adopt a more industrial means of adding women to his network. Ailantha’s comment to Larn’kelnar about no longer filling the vats, combined with Aurelei’s comment about a coming of age ceremony implies that there is already a method in place where women do a shot of spunk to be added to the network. John already needs to figure this out to address the Maliri gender imbalance. There are billions of Maliri on hundreds or thousands of worlds and he’s healed a little over a thousand women. That doesn’t create sustainable numbers.

I don't expect any fleet battles against Thralls to be nearly as one-sided as you think they might be, even with Calara in command. As we saw with the game during the Maliri Civil War, given equal numbers and even a marginal tech advantage, despite Calara winning in the end, it was a pyrrhic victory. With the requisition of Larn's fleets, the Maliri will now have tech parity with Thrall forces rather than being at a severe tech disadvantage. Calara would have to hit the Thrall forces with superior numbers in order to compensate and win battles with minimal losses.

.93: With the superior tactical prowess of Lioness Calara, and the totally inept blunderings of the next Asshat the crew will fight (in a space battle!!), I expect the altercation to be completely one-sided as Calara dominates the enemy fleets with her maneuvers and feints. While Calara commands her Maliri Naval forces in their newly requisitioned war fleets! ... I know John wants to develop a way (ways) to defeat the Asshat, and yet still not trash his empire's innocents, but at least a few thralls might have to be sacrificed to get to Gahl'kalgor, or whomever is next up. So, it would be a good use of Kyth'vindathys to lop off an Asshat's head, and this strikes me as a fine game plan. The fun is all about to start again, I can hardly wait! ... ;-) TTFN

at some point Tef seems to have switched to telling the story as a diary of what happens in nearly every hour in real time for the characters. They have 26 hours of flying through empty space to get to the nearest fleet and that time will take about 20-40K words in the story to get through. To be fair he’s keeping us informed of what’s happening in the Outer Rim, on Genthalas, and in Laranthian space, which is a lot of territory. In that sense he’s really just skimming the surface. But if you’re waiting for some action the travel time really starts dragging on. If you feel like a kid in the back seat asking ‘are we there yet’ every 5 minutes you aren’t alone. Can’t wait for the worm hole generator, but sadly that has a 12 hour charge cycle.

So…unfortunately I recently began to realize I may have erred in believing the Progenitor empires were bigger than they might well be. Using the current Maliri population as a benchmark was…somewhat foolish. Consider that for 10,000 years the Maliri have had no major wars, with the only conflicts being internal and quite internecine. With no large scale loss of life like a Progenitor War to cull the populace and no Soul Forge to sacrifice thralls, a population boom should be expected. However, if a Progenitor is entirely focused on war with his neighbors, his interstellar domain will be mostly streamlined for battle and conquest. Likely, that would mean his planets, rather than being fully populated by hundreds of millions of everyday citizens, would be resource rich worlds meant to fuel his war machine, and might look more like the Outer Rim sector with 5 or 10’s of millions instead. In fact, his entire population might be no more than a billion lives spread across a hundred or so planets. Then, with 20-50 million thralls providing governmental guidance to the rest, it’s no wonder a planet might fall apart like Auralei’s home, especially if they are the only one’s there.

.63 Hi Michael, I have searched and not found a reference to billions of Maliri or Laranthyrans. Although I could have missed it! I did note millions died because of Larn. The only billions is in relation to Terrans being 10 billion plus. However, it does seem logical that the thrall races should have billions. And Rahn believed it would take him 100 years to gain suitable strength. As discussed a few chapters back it depends how small a dose can be. And some recent calculations offered look to be on the low side (ie high volume). It might take a certain volume to enthrall but only one sperm should be needed for pregnancy??

Three thoughts on this chapter, first, damn you for ending the Luca scene like that, now I have to wait til next chapter at least, second the pupil thing was great, made me laugh so hard, thirdly, love the ending with the nymphs, love drunk is the best, lastly, I laughed a lot throughout this chapter it was great, thank you Tef.

Superb chapter, the best interchange was between Luna and Edraele of which this excerpt by Luna was my favorite: Luna gave her a knowing look. *I think it more accurate to say that they’re embracing the spirit of impregnation by Baen’thelas.* However, the best part highlights why I find this space opera like some of the ORIGINAL older ones (Dune, Star Trek, Star Wars, Dr Who ect) so in tune with actual human motivations and why over time all those I have mentioned have become Clown world caricatures. When Novitsky (whom I mentioned before would figure out Lynette was a lioness) waits to question Bryce; the "man whore" launches into an explanation of what is actually typical in human biology. While it is not a complete explanation of all human sexual motivations; it is what today can only be whispered lest the "alphabet mafia" and the rest of Clown World erupt in hatred, banning, doxing and the typical "tolerant" response to stating reality. Yes, as Dune states, there's a place that women dare not go, just as Alyssa won't touch the rune blade nor sit at the command chair no matter how spirited she is. OF COURSE these matters can go too far; and in many societies (some which curiously enjoy "protected status" despite their obviously FAR more intolerant actions). I have seen a few other stories on Literotica which do a good job also (clans of Luteri comes to mind) but most are either one extreme of maledom abuse or something else. Tefler here is hitting the right balance of actual normal human sexual dimorphism and motivation. Once again, I can certainly understand why this post will be deleted soon. It does not meet the required groupthink of the tolerant ones. That said, the fact no one needs to urinate in the morning remains the most absurd part of this saga.

.33 Errata like they’re an imposter impostor as he felt the unmistakeable sensation unmistakable railing I thought nailing but Google agrees with you... Also if 'toggle formatting marks' is on there are superfluous spaces. Some double spaces in the text and often one or more at the end of sentences. The extra spaces are through most chapters. Readability is not impacted.

Only typo was there was 64 tachyon cannons for defense grid and not the 60 in chapter 148. Original 500m Invictus had 48 Gatling lasers and when they upgraded to 750m Invictus they had 64 pulse cannons added (Ch 75). Pulse cannons were eventually replaced by Dana’s tachyon cannons after Arcadia before battle with huge kirrix fleet.
