Thanks for the detailed explanation! Great to see the focus on bugfixes as well (: I've read about the unsafe method to enable the fan controls on Win 11, and don't think anyone who doesn't know what they're doing (like me) would want to go that route haha. Hopefully it'll all work out in the future without forgoing securities for Win 11!

I’m already thinking about a option to set a high contrast mode or use the color you choose in windows 11, but first I focus on bugfixes ☺️ I already spoke about a API for direct granular controls of the fans with Nirav, the thing is, actually it's "possible" to make it work on windows 11 with Secure Boot disabled (obviously) BUT it require some really unsafe changes to Windows too and also enabling "unsigned drivers". I really don't like this idea because it makes the system vulnerable to a lot of things, a other developer already made some pull requests for that and it would enable more options with WinRing0 and Secure boot enabled here : https://github.com/DHowett/ectool/pull/1 But I wait for the Framework team to analyze them 😄

2025-01-08 11:33:00 +0000 UTCHi, I've got a slight colourblindness, and it is hard to distinguish which selections are selected on the interface. Perhaps more contrast would serve better to make it clear? (E.g. darker shade, different colour) Also, curious how far along is it for a fan curve adjustment feature to be implemented, even if it's only in beta? I think it's a very highly requested feature for Win 11 specifically, and more would love to support your Patreon once it is in place.

2025-01-08 11:17:31 +0000 UTCThis app is excellent. Love it! One suggestion would be a GUI minimize button (I only see the X to close) but this is exactly what this laptop needs and should be a first party utility 😊 Very happy to support it's development

2025-01-08 01:54:20 +0000 UTCHitting f12 still opens the framework webpage for me, and to hide the CC I need to r-click on the systray icon and show/hide Not an issue, a very very minor inconvenience, and quite possibly (likely) a user error. I only use windows on this because I have to for now, I'm much more of a Fedora kinda guy

2025-01-08 01:52:37 +0000 UTCThe F12 key binding is enabled by default, when you press it on your keyboard while the program is running, it should show/hide the Framework CC and pause the monitoring if hidden ☺️ the keyboard button is for mapping custom key bindings to your framework Laptop keyboard, for this you need a browser with Web HID support like Chrome, Edge,… Sadly Firefox don’t support it yet

2025-01-08 01:33:38 +0000 UTCA question if I may I don't see an option to enable the F12 quick setting launcher When i go to the keyboard it brings me to https://keyboard.frame.work/ But shows no compatible device found. It's most likely me doing something wrong, but is this covered in a forum post I'm just missing?

2025-01-08 01:27:36 +0000 UTCThe link you posted is a older build i've made with Python and compile with pyinstaller ( Python generally work with .py and not .exe) This post is about a completely rebuild version with C# who is optimised for windows 11 :)
