Dziewonia - guardian of trees

The Dziewonie are beings who dwell in the canopies of the tallest trees. They care for them and protect them from being cut down. Their presence is marked by strange signs and symbols left on tree trunks as warnings. And woe to anyone who ignores them, for the Dziewonie shower the careless with a hail of arrows".

There's a place in Poland near castle, where people saw werid symbols drawn in the forest. Nobody is sure what exactly they mean but few said that they saw a pale figure with glowing eyes running between them after dark. This is what inspired me to create this photo and although I haven't visited it yet I am planning to do that later this year.
