Some slavic water demons prefer the shores of rivers and lakes instead of the dark depths. Their favorite shelter were caves near river sources, where they waited for their victims who wanted to draw fresh water. Boginki appeared at the end of Spring and disappeared just in Autumn. In most regions they were called Boginka, Rusałka or Samowiły.
They could be seen after dusk or just before sunrise, washing their white robes in the moonlight, and then guarding them fiercely, for it was in them that they hid their power. After finishing their work, they indulged in feasts and dances called "choro". The playgrounds were later covered with lush grass, flowers and mushrooms, which were their favorite delicacies.
Despite loud play, they were shy and timid creatures, but woe to those who spied on them while lurking in the bushes. They lured such peepers and tickled them to death, but by nature Boginki were mischievous rather than malicious creatures. For fun, they scared drinking horses, frightened girls (over whom, for unknown reasons, they had special power) and seduced young men. Because of that people avoided places where these demons lived and did not venture to the shores of lakes after dark.
Before few Boginki appeared in the form of old, ugly women with sagging breasts, with which they beat and strangled their victims. On the other hand, others saw them as young beautiful women with long hair in white, flowing robes or naked. They could charm every passer-by with their charm. You can pick which version of this Demon fo you prefer ;)
This time I really have no idea which one to choose. Every photo has different vibe a bit so PLEASE share with me your opinion after reading the description. It would help me a ton.
THANK YOU, Erinthul.
