Future Eyes With Mara Ohara

It has been a long while since I have shot with Mara, but that recently changed. Lately when Mara has come to the studio it has been to shoot some e-comm for her product line. Mara and a couple of models would come over, shoot quick through her new merchandise and off she would go. A few weeks ago we set up a day to shoot through some of the ideas we had thrown back and forth with one another and this was one of them. She had seen my shoot with Reed where I used the Future Eyes prism to modify a video I had taken on my iPhone and immediately fell in love.

Mara slipped on this beautiful one piece lingerie set, I rolled down some seamless and grabbed my prism. Now, there is definitely a learning curve for shooting with prisms and educating one's self on how holding it at different parts of the lens at different angles and distances modifies the image drastically. Even so, when looking through the viewfinder and seeing something that could look good, as soon as you release the shutter and look at the back of the camera it could be vastly different that what your eye originally saw. I would definitely say that shooting with a prism you get more 'meh' images than you do ones that you actually want to work with. However, as I shoot with these prisms more and more I will eventually find the process and nail down exactly what I need to do and how I need to hold it. Enjoy!
