Mostly I am busy with making a living but also keep thinking, learning, and trying~
I am going to change my SRPG project from fantasy to sci-fi style, after considering about my weak organic sculpture skill, expensive SSS shaders and some idea about the new\quick workflow
Here are some ideas I want to try:
Rigid FACS system, create a facial expression system for robots based on the FACS system, mainly about replacing muscle/weight-painting with rigid body/parent constrain;
Modular robot frame and attachments including the robot character generator;
Modular environment grids also attachment and their editor;
New workflow replacing design-model-shader-rig... with procedural shader-design-model-rig;
build traditional SRPG gameplay system like Final Fantasy Tactics Advance / Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis, with modern 3d game engine, but merge level maps as a larger world map;
hard-surface modeling and shading better and may post something about it;
