The Selenography of Frankenstein
Added 2024-01-15 00:06:43 +0000 UTCWe've got something a little unusual this week for you. I'm sure most of you are familiar with the famous "Dark Side of Oz" phenomenon where people sync up The Wizard of Oz with Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. Well, I recently on a whim decided to try to do the same with Frankenstein., using the album Selenography by Louisville's own chamber music/post-rock band, Rachel's. So, enjoy what I'm calling The Selenography of Frankenstein. Oh, and since Selenography is a bit shorter than Frankenstein, I added a reprise of track two, "On Demeter" to the end. It seemed to work pretty well.

Yeah I think it pairs pretty well, and being on edibles is always a great state to receive ideas in lol

I had partaken of some edibles and was thinking about the Wizard of Oz thing and wondered if it would work with Frankenstein. And for some reason this Rachel's album was the first thing that came to mind. Being instrumental seemed like a good start, and it's fairly chill, but has dynamic qualities and is somewhat melancholy. It just seemed like it had the right vibes. So I put the DVD in, and started the record, and it felt right. I tried it again the next day with a clear head, and it still worked for me. I thought it would be a fun thing to share. A little different than our normal discussions, but perfect for Patreon where no rights holders are likely to come after us.
