Maomao said later that they would have lost an entire village without the thoughtful officer (collective punishment). And the poisoning was only a suspicion of betrayal or support for barbarians, not a rebellion like here... It can thus be assumed that the advancing army shows no mercy for rebels, whether man, woman, or child (that's probably why Shisui did it)...

If he is the emperors son that would make her his cousin but he's acknowledged by as the emperors brother, THIS FAMILY TREE IS INSANE! I understand shusui's reasoning for the poison but damn i hope its just a recreation of the ressurection medicine or something, and that's why she brought maomao. I think thats the only way the kids could escape the prosecution of the rebellion
