About Watching Videos

Temporary Workaround: This is only an issue if you are using the patreon app. For now, even on a mobile phone, you can log into your patreon on your browser and watch the videos there.

Update 6 (09.12.): They did it again, and it seems to be not working on the app. I have contacted patreon about the issue. if you feel so, please contact them as well and tell them you aren't able to watch the ideos in the app but in the browser it works well. Maybe this will make them more aware of the issue.

Update 5 (09. Nov): Upon checking today it worked for me again on the app. If you have trouble to get it working on the app, please try to update the app, and if it doesn't work then please contact Patreon about the issue.

Update 4 (17. Oct): Received this email from Patreon:

Hi there,

 [...] I looked into this for you, and this does appear to be a glitch on our end. While I’m unable to fix this for you right now, I’ve shared your report with our engineering team so we can further investigate this issue. 

I’m unable to provide an exact timeline for when this might be fixed, but I’ll be here to help if you notice any changes or have any other questions in the meantime.

Update 3 (06. Oct): Today I received an Email from patreon, they are obviosly still working on ther "new and improved" app experience also the Creator interface has changed (not for the better imo) but the issue still persists so kindly use the workaround for now. The videos are much better on a desktop screen anyways :)

Update 2 (05. Oct): Patreon hasn't replied to me yet, but I am in contact with other creators who also use vimeo to implement their video content on patreon. They face the same problem and already contacted patreon, so it seems they are aware of it and working on it.

Update 1 (04. Oct): It works in the browser / desktop version of patreon, but there seems to be a problem with watching videos in the app. I am on it and in contact with patreon.

Problem: It looks like there is a problem with Vimeo's video hosting. I will check it right away and this should be solved soon.
