054 (Vol 4) HxH: Tombbound Power

This was the general terrain along the southeastern coast. If one wanted a deeper understanding of the Dark Continent, they had to cross the Sea of Trees.

Everyone stood along the shore, taking in the vast, unfamiliar landscape with varying expressions—curiosity, excitement, and a sense of awe—as they tried to commit every detail to memory.

But that feeling of novelty didn't last long. At Beyond's command, the group of professionals, recruited from the Six Continents, quickly shifted into action and began working in an orderly manner.

"As for the base, there's a fourth-dimensional apartment already set up here, so no need to build from scratch. As for communications..." Beyond turned to Ronnel and the others before shouting to the crowd:

"Victor? Where are you, Victor!"

"Zero-one-zero! Reporting in, Beyond-san."

A man in his thirties, slightly chubby and with a sincere face, emerged from the busy crowd.

"Ronnel-san, Ging-san..." he greeted politely before Beyond casually threw an arm around his neck.

"This guy's a specially appointed professor I poached from Talen University of Communication—our liaison officer," Beyond said offhandedly. "He might look mild-mannered, but when he gets serious, his focus puts even me to shame."

"N-no, Beyond-san, you flatter me," Victor replied modestly, waving his hands.

"Haha, don't be fooled by his humility. His ability is called God's Projector. Anyone who's had direct contact with him can be displayed on the screen generated by his ability.

"He can capture intelligence, voices, and images. The more he knows, the more detailed and multi-angled the projection becomes. No matter how far away you are—even in another dimension—he can broadcast it all in real time."

"His projector can also restrict the number of people shown. As long as there are enough monitors, he can present the entire team's feeds. Plus, with his secondary ability, Contact Headset, he can establish direct voice links with those in the footage."

"Of course, if anyone finds the voice link intrusive, it can be cut off at will—the contact is always under the recipient's control."

"I see~" Ging looked at Victor with interest. "So when we're out in the field, it's like having someone monitoring the situation and giving us tactical support at all times?"

"The ability sounds useful," Ronnel said, glancing toward Beyond. "But the display screens are limited, right? If there's no screen, there's no projection."

"Don't worry about that!" Beyond slapped his chest. "I brought a full set—top-tier displays from all six continents."

"Then I've got no complaints~" Ronnel replied casually.

Though the idea of being watched didn't sit entirely well with him—especially since some secrets could be unintentionally revealed—he knew he could cut the connection at any time. No big deal.

And in a place as strange and unpredictable as the Dark Continent, everything had to be handled with flexibility.

Ging just shrugged, showing no objections.

...

"So—everyone!!"

Beyond stepped to the front of the bustling group and raised his voice.

The crowd quieted instantly. One by one, they put down what they were doing and looked toward him.

Faced with the focused, eager stares, Beyond showed no sign of nervousness. He simply grinned and said three calm, confident words:

"Start the work!!"

There was no rousing speech or grand promises—just three plain words. But they were enough to ignite something in everyone.

"Yeah!"

A single cheer carried the intensity of a collective roar.

Once the group of professionals got into the rhythm of their roles, their efficiency was staggering.

Beyond split the team into four main sections.

Three of them were combat squads, led respectively by Beyond, Ging, and Pariston, each responsible for exploration and frontline operations.

As the de facto second-in-command, Ging also served as a squad captain.

To avoid bloated rosters, each combat team had only four or five members besides the captain.

Mercenaries like the elf prince Muhair, those fanatically loyal to rigid codes, and even the puppet-like little girl who only obeyed Beyond, naturally ended up on Beyond's team.

Meanwhile, the Hunters hailing from the streets of Meteor City—led by Saiyu and the others—naturally gravitated toward Pariston.

As for Ging's team, it consisted of former freelance agents like the apron-wearing fisherman Usamen and a few others who were either inspired by his charisma and power, or simply joined because the other teams had filled up.

Ging had no issue with this arrangement, and Pariston, of course, accepted it with a smile.

Not everyone in the expedition was combat-focused.

Support-typ like Victor and Rozman, along with expert researchers such as Professor Curly from Varvard University, stayed inside the fourth-dimensional apartment to provide logistics and intel.

...

As for Ronnel—

"Are you sure you don't want a team, Ronnel~?" Beyond asked, glancing at the man thoughtfully.

"We could easily assign you a few people—or even form a fourth team altogether."

"I really don't need it~" Ronnel said with a soft smile. "I work better alone."

"Well, with your strength, you'll probably be fine out there even by yourself."

Beyond didn't press the issue any further.

Ronnel was stronger now. And this time, the team was far better prepared. With so many support personnel and resources, the risks were significantly reduced.
