Lend lease didn’t start to reach large levels until mid 1943. Stuff was being sent but no where at enough levels. That wouldn’t be the case until Operation Bigration which was built on the back of US two ton trucks and radios

My great grandfather was in the Italian army in Russia, he was in the mountian divisions. He almost never talked about it unless he got completely drunk, all we know is he liked the Soviet civilians cause they gave the Italians liquor in exchange for food.

There was a great opportunity to make a panzerShrek joke... ;)

Mariusz 'Kot' Butrykowski

In his autobiography, T.E. Lawrence tells a story in which he accidentally shot his camel in the back of the head with his pistol during an attack. He promptly flew down the side of the hill and ate shit. He was using a pistol because the other fighters didn't trust him with a rifle since he was terrible on camelback. So yes, one of the Cossacks almost certainly shot his own camel and if he lived, he never heard the end of it from the others.

Grossman and Kapuscinski are the only two I can remember off the top of my head.

Anyone have the name of the episode of the Pavlov house joe mention?

TheBannerofHomuraAkemi

You need to do an episode about the Italian cavalry charge on the Soviets which was believe it or not successfully done. Also check it how good the Hungarian pilots were, I know hard to believe. The Iron Guard and Spanish blue division were nuts.

MICHAEL KEANE

Who are the authors that Nate mentioned? I am having a hard time with the spelling

I guess the soviet union did a better job training antitank mice than antitank dogs
