This is a ridiculously hyper-specific topic to comment on, but that “peckerwood” discussion sent me. I’m black, and my 50-year-old dad (important note: he’s country as hell) still uses peckerwood, and I've also met some other black people that use it too (important note: also country as hell). So the legend lives on. But for a white supremacist group to call themselves that, though? It’s um…very modern of them to try to reclaim a slur? I'm going to be cackling about this for years.
