More on the subject of David Lloyd George knowing Welsh... HE WAS FUCKING WELSH. And on the subject of the Welsh language, I invite people to take a quick listen to the Welsh folk song Yma o Hyd (https://youtu.be/iLXtf1XFczk?si=tVMs6o5Ye-H-BVNy), written in the 1980s at the height of Margaret Thatcher's war with the coal miners, which had a terrible impact on Wales. It's a song about how Welsh culture has survived after centuries of oppression from England, and the survival of the Welsh language despite the teaching or speaking being banned for much of that time.
