Not allowed. Brits had their beer, French were issued wine. The US fighting in two 'dry' countries made it policy that you can't have alcohol. It never stopped anyone but the logic was that we shouldn't be getting drunk in a war zone in a country where the people we are fighting don't drink because it's culturally offensive. Also drunk teenagers aren't very useful. I'm sure the command staff was blasted every night.
