๐ง I got hacked

I wanted to let you know that my website was hacked earlier today.
It was down for about an hour while I worked to restore a backup from yesterday.
Everything is back online now, and I apologize to anyone who wasnโt able to access it during that time.
I found out it was a hack because I discovered some malicious code injected into my siteโs files. Iโm currently working with one of my patrons to fix the damage and secure the site as best as we can. Unfortunately, any comments and likes left between yesterday and today were lost in the processโฆ Iโm really sorry if you took the time to share something and itโs now gone.
Itโs a tough blow, I wonโt lie. I donโt know what the hacker(s)' intentions were โ thereโs no personal or financial data on the site, so this was probably just an act of maliceโฆ or maybe someone trying to access content for free and destroying everything in the process.
Itโs frustrating, but don't worry, it wonโt kill my motivation.
I don't often say this, but thank you very much for your support.
I appreciate it more than ever.

2025-04-17 11:45:09 +0000 UTCA private website typically allows more control over content to the owner. Patreon can technically remove content they don't like, and in some cases even ban the author in question.
