Secrets From the Future - Diviners and Math-Mages

After ages struggling with diviners, I finally cracked them while brainstorming for Cobramode's Geometer's Guild mages; essentially the core identity I landed on was the idea of examining in-combat events with a random element to determine which actions will be most auspicious for them on their following turn, which I think conveys the right sort of energy without running into a lot of the pitfalls I associate with divination abilities (removing the role of the dice, hard-countering player choices, etc).

Definitely; the archmage stat blocks are all envisioned as arc-defining villains where it's really important that their flavor shine through, though; plenty of easier-to-run mages scattered through everywhere else :D

This is really crazy stuff Isaac! Really big investment for a DM to run - definitely not something you can throw into a random encounter without having read through the statblocks I'd say :) But really awesome, unique mechanics. You've overdone yourself here!

Looks to me that a cast spell takes effect yeah. I have a bit of a hard time seeing how it can be abused though. The exact same spell is cast in the exact same way each turn. If that spell was a Fireball, it goes to exactly the same place etc. Also the wording is clear a Cha save is required and must be failed. What abuse are you envisioning?

So question about the moment lock spell added to this. If a creature casted a spell and thats the affected action, does moment lock just make them continue to cast that spell for free? Or does it make them just continue casting it, but nothing happens since their spells slots aren't being used? Cause this would Def be crazy if the players found out that this spell can essentially put out a free spell on rewind
