Master PDF 1.25

Man, y'all are great. We're inching up on 500 patrons and I just want to take a moment to reflect on that; there really isn't any industry position in existence that would pay for someone to spend as much time as I do on these monsters, and there's no way I could have made so much progress on this project without this income to support it.

This community is just the kindest, most helpful, supportive bunch of people I've ever encountered on the internet as well, and I'm just feeling really grateful to live in a moment where this is possible. Thanks for everything all of you have done and continue to do to help me with this.

Upcoming in February: Crime! Intrigue! Famous Mages?! The NPCs section has been neglected for far too long, and I'm dumping a hearty chunk of fun into it this month.

Collaborations: I super randomly ran into Fang VonWrathenstein of the band Lords of the Trident recently (I spent like 5 minutes glaring at him thinking "This mfer looks like he's gotta be in some band I listen to." Turns out he was!) and kind of spur-of-the-moment decided to do another album adaptation. Fortunately the broad archetypes of the album dovetailed really nicely with stuff the monster roster needed anyways, so it ended up relatively easy and a ton of fun.

I've got a bread-centered adventure I'm working on with Lorelock, and I started playing in a weekly Drakkenheim campaign with Old World Charm that should make it to youtube at some point.

The epic level adventure with with Scott McClintock and Mark Altfuldisch is getting pushed back a bit to accommodate some life stuff, but I'll be hammering away at monsters for it whenever I get a moment for the next month.

Missed this response, thanks for getting back to me. I thought it'd be something like that. My players are loving/hating the new monsters, it's great stuff. Thanks for all the hard work :)

Robert Mills

Haha, thanks! I periodically re-do older work in the hopes of bringing everything up to the level of quality of my best work, but I'm always moving the goalposts on that so I'm not sure I'll ever actually feel caught up. If you like Halaster, I just did a Mordenkainen in the same vein (planning to do the whole circle of eight sometime soon), and have an Elminster from a while back that you might have fun with: Mordenkainen: https://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/Fi7TAYwIbHW4 Elminster: https://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/LY2HUzDmgyNE

New patron here! I've been DM'ing DoMtM and I saw your older redone Halastar statblock and was so intrigued that I had to check out some of your other work. I have a few (very) experienced players at my table and so I'm always looking for remastered versions of some classic existing monsters to keep things fresh for everybody. Some of your remasters are some of the best work I've seen. A lot of them that I've previewed appear to be some of the most dynamic and creative remasters I've seen. Keep up the good work!

The PDF gets everything that's posted at the point that it's released; since the bandits/ruffians/blackguards were posted a few days later they're not in the current version, but they will be in for March.

Isaac Minarik

I sympathize on the computer troubles - been having my own. Just a quick question as I just signed up a month ago; I'm looking in the master list PDF for Feb and I can't find the new bandits/ruffians/blackguards. Is this the usual release schedule? Like I should grab the individual stuff now, then it gets added to the master list later? Or is this just because of the computer issues?

Robert Mills

I don't keep a changelog, but it's just the stuff from the posts this month. A big chunk of it was updates to the chromatic dragons. The foundry module hasn't been updated yet because I've gotta find time to re-do it after my computer died.

Isaac Minarik

Is there a list anywhere of whats new from last version?

charlie mccarthy

Oh my god, right? I have no idea how this community happened but I love that there's an internet-place that I can go where everyone is nice and helpful and has cool ideas.

Isaac Minarik

This is by far my favorite dnd community. Everyone on discord is very helpful and provide a lot of inspiration for me. The discord community alone is worth the patreon subscription and the monsters make it an even better deal.

Ed Burns

Awesome! Thanks! And thanks @cptlande!

Dan

It should be everything up to September of last year, but I'm not rightly sure. It was something a patron threw together for themself.

Isaac Minarik

What is included in the Owlbear Rodeo json?

Anonymoose238

@cptlande in the discord made a pack of like 2k tokens that's pinned in the Digital Tools channel in the discord, though, and if you go back to before I took over managing the foundry module (in July of last year, I think?) you can find versions that still have the images in; you should be able to just drag and drop those into the empty folder

Isaac Minarik

Sort of! It originally had images when it was a project maintained by a patron, but when I took it over I had to pull them out to avoid mail from WotC.

Isaac Minarik

Hiya, I'm probably missing a guide somewhere... the Foundry module has an empty folder for images, and the changelog mentions images, but I'm not seeing images. Are there images available as a separate download or something?

Dan

Thanks and sorry to hear it. Hope he's feeling better!

Neil Silverman

The fella who handles the json was sick through a lot of January, but says it should be brought up to date by this weekend

Isaac Minarik

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth (what a weird saying), and many thanks for this, but any chance the 5e Tools JSON will get updated soon?
