Get yourself drawn! (Commission FAQ)

Hey Eddheads!

So our current highest tier includes a one-off unique commission by a member of the animation team. Lots of you have already picked it (thank you!) and we've completed the first few drawings. Here's a gallery of some of them!

Here's what you need to know about the commissions:

- They are full-colour portrait drawings featuring upper body and face on a solid background.

- When you join the tier you need to send us a message with a link to your reference photo(s). These need to be hosted somewhere public like Imgur, Instagram, or Twitter so we can open them! (Not on Facebook or somewhere private that requires a password.)

- If you have special instructions you can include them in the message and we'll try our best to follow them. For example: drawing you in a particular outfit or holding an object.

- The team will get to work on them as soon as we receive the photo and we'll try to get it to you within a few days.

We've had some questions already about the commissions and what we can or cannot draw, so below are some FAQs.

Can I get more than one commission?

No, not right now. However we are already planning some extra goodies and opportunities for custom drawings. We really want to reward Patrons who stay at high levels for multiple months, so watch this space for news!

Can my commission be of someone else, like my friend?

Absolutely! If you want to gift your commission just send us a reference photo of the person you're sending it to and we'll draw them instead.

What happens if I don't want to be drawn?

That's totally fine. If you would prefer not to be drawn yourself you can request a picture of an existing Eddsworld character.

Are there any Eddsworld characters you can't draw?

Yes. Because their IRL counterparts have requested it or the character was designed by someone else etc. we cannot draw commissions involving the following characters: Tord/Red Leader, Patryck, or Paul. Because many minor characters are based on the likenesses of real people it's best to stick to the main crew or the purely fictional secondary characters (like Santa*, Zanta, King of Atlantis, Lucifer, Evil Director, etc.).

Can you draw my favourite character from another show?

No. We don't want to infringe other creators' copyright, so we cannot draw character designs from other existing shows. However, if you would like to be drawn in cosplay or holding a prop from another show we can make that happen! For example: we're happy to draw you holding a pokéball, or wearing a jacket from your favourite video game.

Can you draw anthro/furry or other magical beast personas?

No, sorry. Furry/anthro characters do not appear in the Eddsworld universe and generally require a very different style and skillset. Your commission should be human (or very close), with the exception of existing magical characters in Eddsworld like Zanta.

Can you draw my OC instead of me?

Sure! As long as that OC is human. Just send us some reference drawings instead of photos.

Can I share the picture on social media?

Absolutely! Your commission is YOURS to do whatever you like with. We want you to share them! And if you do post on social media, remember to use the hashtag #Eddsworld or tag us!
