June 8th Katalepsis chapter will be delayed by one week.

This week’s Katalepsis chapter — the patron and public releases — will be delayed by one week. Katalepsis will resume as normal on the 15th of June!

My apologies, especially for doing this so late in the week. I never like to cancel or delay chapters, so I try to avoid this as much as I can. I’ll get straight to the point: I’m really unwell. It’s nothing life-threatening or even dangerous or new, it’s just a long-term problem that I’m struggling to manage. This week has been unexpectedly rough; by the time I realised things were getting bad, I’d already invested double the normal amount of time writing the Necroepilogos chapter — not because I was prioritising it over Katalepsis, but simply because it was already somewhat complete. I managed to power through and finish that, and draft this week’s Katalepsis chapter too, but it’s an incoherent mess and needs a very clear head to edit, and probably double or triple the usual amount of time. I don’t want to rush to put out a sub-standard chapter, not in this state, and especially not during this final arc of Book One, with so many things being revealed and resolved and explored. I feel like it would be very disappointing for the readers if I messed up something so important at this stage.

So, I’m not publishing like normal on Saturday. I will still be working — though I’m going to take a day or two to step back and do a slow edit of the mess I’ve made. I’m also going to make some changes behind the scenes to try to avoid something like this happening again, as best I can.

Thank you for all your support and understanding, I really could not do this without all of you, you’re the ones who make this possible. To the few patrons who joined very recently, I realise this might be a bit surprising or disappointing; this doesn’t happen often, and I’ll do my best to avoid it in the future.

Anyway! Katalepsis will be back to normal next week! I’ll do my best in the meantime. Thank you all.
