An epub of the chapter is also attached!
The King approaches, demanding to know where his princess has gone. Does she play upon the stage, or sit among the audience, or pen the very words emerging from his mouth? This regal presence is not pleased, and Heather is about to know why.
Oof! Gosh, here we go! Arc 24 is still absolutely wild, barely within my control, and continuing to evolve and grow beyond even my own dearly held hopes! We must be over halfway by now, we must be! I say, in vain, because we might not be, but I hope we are(?) Anyway, I hope you enjoy the chapter, dear readers! And thank you for being here, thank you for supporting Katalepsis, thank you for enjoying my writing so much! This is all for you! And I couldn't do it without you.
I do, however, have a small piece of bad news: there will be no Katalepsis chapter next Saturday. I figure it's better to plan and announce this in advance rather than attempt to thread the needle and end up crashing out on Thursday or something. This coming week, I've got some medical issues to deal with, some (extremely minor) surgery which is likely to leave me out of action for a few days (sort of). I've been trying to backlog enough stuff to deal with this, but I haven't quite managed to. So! I'm gonna be working like normal, but it's highly likely I would end up pushing too hard, so I'm calling a single week break in advance. My apologies for this, I never like to do this unless I absolutely have to. Katalepsis will return as normal on the 4th of May! Thank you all for your patience, I'll do my best!
Meanwhile, for those of you who do not frequent the discord, I wish to once again share a piece of art: this wonderfully creepy interpretation of the medical ward below the prison, by FarionDragon!

Perhaps the King was bound to express himself with a little over-dramatic theatrics! It's just in his nature, after all. And yes, Fae Rules were totally in action. Heather seemed to realise that, offering him food. Twil being free would make a huge difference, to have a werewolf running around. Very useful. And mmhmm, that Plushie does seem to be very ... observant. Hm. More core, ah? Maybe! But maybe not. Maybe it's something else.

2024-05-09 23:37:08 +0000 UTCWell now, that went surprisingly well! The King only attempted to fake-kill Heather and even ate with them (by the way, I would've absolutely applied Fae Rules to that exchange. Hospitality is one of the rules I follow with all of my heart). And they even have a plan to get our dear werewolf out of her reverie! Hopefully she'll actually get her memories back, like Evee did, and then... onwards to Zheng, followed by our dear Praem. By the way, that plushie is absolutely alive. We all know that. Finally, that tapping was definitely morse code, although for some reason the only thing I can translate it to is STTI. What's that mean?

2024-05-09 21:33:35 +0000 UTCThank you very much! I'm sure it'll all go fine, it's very small, not a big deal at all. I'll make sure to rest and recover, and Katalepsis will be back very soon!

2024-04-20 17:13:25 +0000 UTCNext Saturday shall be a day of sadness without Katalepsis. Here's hoping that your minor surgeries remain as only minor, and that your recovery be swift and restful.
