A general update on the state of things here.

I'm so sorry to keep you all waiting for new content. For a while, I had a bit of a regular release schedule going, but unfortunately the last 6 weeks have been a massive disaster over here in Johannesburg, South Africa where I live.

To try to cut a long story short: winter started, a third wave of covid-19 hit our almost entirely unvaccinated population, the government ramped up severe lockdown restrictions in response, but thus far, that's done very little to keep the out-of-control surge of infections at bay.

Then several power stations suffered some major failures, and with everyone being stuck at home running heaters, the government implemented severe rolling blackouts to deal with the extremely strained power supply, meaning that for several hours each day, the electricity was off.

Those rolling blackouts went on for nearly two weeks, but once the scheduled power cuts finally stopped, we were hit by several unscheduled ones due to damage at the local substation that seems to have been caused by the rolling blackouts. At some point during this whole debacle, some cable thieves moved into the area and had located maintenance points on the underground transmission lines, and started stealing the copper cables right out of the ground. The scheduled power cuts were inconvenient, but the unscheduled ones were so much worse... They'd take one by surprise and and last for hours or even entire days.

If that weren't enough, June ended with the news that our former president Jacob Zuma had been found guilty of contempt of court, and was sentenced to 15 months in prison. He was ordered to hand himself in to the authorities, but for a whole week, he did not, forcing the police to move in to arrest him.  In the lead up to that, a large contingent of his supporters had gathered to protest the court's decision and to run interference should the police decide to move in. Ultimately the police did arrest him last Wednesday, and ever since then there has been an endless string of violent riots and looting in the major cities, including my home town. Fortunately, the violence and looting has not reached my neighbourhood yet, but it's happening close enough that we're being impacted by it indirectly. Most shops and businesses have closed up due to safety concerns, and those that have remained open have empty shelves and long queues to just to get in the doors.

Against this background I've been doing my best to play catch up, but it has been a nightmarish uphill battle. The problems still continue, and I'm still doing my best to play catch up, so it might be a little while before I can get back to guaranteed regular scheduled releases, but I do have lot of content for you, starting with the freshly released Forlorn Knight! There's more stuff coming, and I'll release it to you as quickly as I am able.
