Update 9/24/21
Added 2021-09-24 21:55:34 +0000 UTCEesh, sorry about being quiet a bit. Felt a bit under the weather for a while, and other things! Today will be brief, but there should be another post this sunday.
Making slow progress updating the existing events of Phase 1, while building out Phase 2.. Phase 2 has the player compelled to pay off a debt foisted on them by Grace, the gluttonous daughter of Charity Montalban, and Rachel's former flatmate. You're not obligated to do this, but this debt sets off several mingame/quests to pay it off, so there's a reason to engage with it. Additionally, paying off the debt allows you to USE said Penthouse, which replaces your old apartment as your 'home base,' regardless of whether or not you want it.
The two pictures here are only related in their relative occurrence. The latter is a face set for Charity, as paying off the debt allows one to potentially recruit her! (Or dismiss her, for recouping(?) your financial investment--you CANNOT, however, eat her at this point). Charity has been kind of a tease since ver 0.1, but in 0.4, she'll be recruitable!
She shares a sprite shape with Nanette, but will function differently; whereas Nanette is a semi-tank, Charity is a DPS, or whatever the equivalent is a turn-based rpg. Charity ain't got any desire in protecting people, and she certainly won't start with you!
As for the first image, well... The player will be forced onto one of two/three narrative beats: GAIN, the Cult, and Neutral...ish. I'll go more into this later, but the Cult seemed a bit too benign, so... now they've got some more sinister elements to them.
