Sketches/Unfinished versions #3

When creating a character, sometimes you come up with the final idea pretty fast, but other times you go through a few options. I want to show some sketches/unfinished images to show the character creation process.

Mila started as a character in an evening dress holding a book in a library. After trying a few options, I ended up with Mia in pajamas in bed.

Sam was meant to be cartoonish at first. Then I got the idea to try a realistic look and give her a sleepy vibe with morning wood.

Kaori was first done in a realistic style. I had an idea with a hairstyle, tight clothes, and a glass of champagne in her hand. Then I wanted to try it in an anime style, and I ended up liking that enough to finish it that way.

Sora was a character in wet clothes from the start. I tried different versions until a story popped into my head about her running to you under an umbrella to escape the rain. That’s how the final result came about.

Madison looked pretty much the same from the start as she does in the final version—hairstyle, clothes, hot summer vibe. I was picking the angle and settled on a side view, adding a drink in her hand.
