The show is spectacular, but I think for whatever reason (probably because I was waiting for the Ted Lasso finale), I was having a hard time properly connecting with it. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't because I was missing something important 😊

2023-06-05 21:13:09 +0000 UTCYou don't need to know anything from LoL. You're not missing anything. The show uses some characters from the game and some were created for the show but that's about it. The only thing League players have on "Normies" is they know the specific game characters background from the game. In the show, the only thing they stick to is the weapons each character uses. The story was formed around the game characters picked. There are several in the first season that are hidden throughout. Along with several other Easter eggs for the players. Vi mentioned "The lanes", the cupcakes on the balcony (an in game healing device) just to name a couple you've passed so far.

2023-06-05 10:27:04 +0000 UTCThere are other game characters in the first arc too which I won't name due to potential spoilers, but as far as I'm aware the magical guy isn't Ryze, especially since he isn't blue. Personally I wouldn't advise looking up the characters as it could lead to pretty big spoilers for season 2 etc.

Most of the lore that I was missing and wanted to know more about was about the land, not the people. It can easily be found online. Has of the characters… Mmmm , how not to spoil things. Okay, in this first arc of three episodes, we can only confirm, so far, 7 playable characters from the game. Every other characters would of been a creation for the show, has far was we know in this first arc. Those would be Jayce, Viktor, Heimerdinger, Caitlyn, Vi, Powder and Ryze (the magical guy that brought young Jayce and is mother out of the blizzard).
