Ted Lasso 3x11 Full Length Reaction

That's a great way to describe Succession! 😄 And I'm really enjoying Arcane so far, so definitely recommended!

Movie Night

I suppose they are complete opposite shows so... Ted and and then a show that's all varying degrees of Rupert. I should watch Arcane. You're one of the many people who make me think it's worth a go! Cheers! 😊

BinsQ

You too! Welcome to the Patreon family!

Movie Night

Aw! That makes sense 😄

Movie Night

Great to meet you!

BinsQ

So many tissues! I just watch thus series on a loop interspersed with favourite movies and Succession!

BinsQ

Hope you stocked up on tissues, Bins! :)

Welcome! We're all crazy for Ted Lasso here, so we're thrilled to have you aboard! Can't wait to discuss the finale!

Movie Night

Delighted to be here! I'm Bins (Belinda), a mental health counsellor/librarian and BONKERS Ted Lasso fan from Australia. I am about to watch the finale.... we are NOT ready! Look at Ted, bringing such lovely community together! I have plenty of chips and chocolate. :)

BinsQ

Wow, I definitely didn't pick up on that. Great find! It'll be interesting to see if he does go back to Zoreaux. I just can't wrap my mind around the fact that there's only one episode left! I'm crossing my fingers for an extra long, two hour send off 😅

Movie Night

Huh...I wonder if that was one of the reshoots and they had to recreate the prop?

Movie Night

Also…I think Van Damme will go back to his old name. They called him “swashbuckling”. They talked about how he was different with the mask. The Mask of…Zoreaux? I bet Dani may end up encouraging that…after all, Zorro is a hero with Hispanic/Mexican roots (albeit created and written by an American author).

This episode was a lot. (This show is a lot!). But, I want to leave you with one *weird* Easter Egg: The Chelsea Logo on the Roy Kent poster changes. The first glance (35:15) it’s the blue logo with “CFC” and the lion, a version that the internet tells me was used 2003-2005. But immediately after that they cut to Roy’s “Fudgin’ heck” and cut back to it over the stepfather’s shoulder (35:18), and now it’s a white logo with a blue circle edge and yellow trim, with the lion in the middle, which has been used from 2005 until present day. And it goes back to the original blue logo when they leave (38:48). One of the very few outright production errors I’ve ever seen on this show.

That's understandable. I have to admit, I don't think I thought about her as more than an abstraction. Schroedinger's mom, she wasn't really alive or dead to me 😅

Movie Night

Ooh...what if Rebecca adopts Pixie Assistant's baby?

Movie Night

My guess about Bex and Pixie Assistant... Pixie Assistant is pregnant and she went to Bex for advice. Bex brought Pixie to Rebecca for advice.

I literally thought that Jamie's mom was dead, based on his curse-breaking speech in season one.

Just an incredible episode all around. And yes, this has got to be Phil Dunster’s submission reel.

I definitely assumed rehab! I don't know if he's still in it, or if it a sober living home situation, but I absolutely read it as him getting treatment 😊

Movie Night

Oh, by the way - forgot to mention this - I think Jameh's dad is in recovery! He looked like he was watching the game from a group home of some sort - which says "sober living house" to me. Anyone else agree? Or is it just wishful thinking on my part?

Katy McDermott

That's not an easy thing to do, so I commend you for it ❤️

Nice of you to say that about the depression - not to worry, though, I've become an expert at what's on one of my favorite stickers: "Cried but did the thing anyway." :)

Katy McDermott

Firstly, I'm sorry about your depression. I've been there, and I hope you're doing alright. I think you make a great point about Jamie, and I imagine there was a lot of confusion, repression, frustration, and self-hate tied up in letting himself cry. I had some interesting conversations with others during The Last of Us, because it was such an emotional show, but it hit in so many different ways. I would go from crying, to hyperventilating, to just shocked and back again, and it opened a really fascinating discussion about how differently people express their emotions. I appreciate that with Jamie we were able to see the conflict, and just how unnatural it looked for him to experience that. Props to his performance, and thank you for sharing your thoughts. I loved your interpretation!

Movie Night

You know, at first I thought Jamie's crying in the Boot Room was a bit unrealistic/OTT - but then I thought about it a bit. I've had clinical depression for around 50 years, so crying is, unfortunately, almost an every day thing. However, in Jamie, we have a character who's been taught not to cry probably since he was a sexy little babeh. In addition, he has no idea what these Big Feelings are (sadness, grief, etc.), so he's completely freaked out by them. I imagine that when that emotion finally comes out, it would in fact look a lot like that...
