WWE Hell in a Cell 2010

And me, John Cena.

John Cena's role in all this IS interesting, he very much is the "good soldier just following orders," and I'm not sure how much I can hold that against him. This was when WWE was a monopoly, they were pushing this very individualistic notion of what pro-wrestling should be (one guy at the top, everyone else working to keep him there), despite it being a co-operative, long-term art form. So he was likely being told how he'd be booked, and saw no reason to "help anyone else" because I'm sure Pritchard or McMahon were telling him: "they need to bring themselves up just like YOU did, John!"

I think the whole "loving a brand" thing used to be a much bigger deal overall, at least in America. You see it a lot in '70s and '80s movies: people just wearing "BRAND" as clothing, you'd have people get into heated debates about "Ford VS Chevrolet" and, of course, the Console Wars some brave idiots are still fighting to this day. I think a lot of people are more "brand loyal" than they think, but I do also think "loving a brand alone" is very much dying off.

Go back and watch the Joe Vs angle tna stuff and it's full of videos but now we get nada. Love you guys but if you're gonna do it behind the paywall then you need to show what your talking about, that's why ppl pay

I have watched loads of these, going back to the wrestletalk extra days and I thought the idea of having them on patrein was we would get more videos from the ppv to go along withe the review. In fact we now get less things to watch than we used to, I mean the begining used to be the actual opening video package of the ppv,so why, now that we are paying to actually see stuff, are we seeing less than we used to?

That dropkick, I think, is just pulled too much. Rather than a strike, it has the same type of force as if he just shoved someone.

There is a difference between "loving a brand" and having "Brand loyalty". The Nike and Adidas example is actually a good representation of this. We absolutely have certain biases towards products and even advertising. Even an ad being annoying can turn off someone from a product. (That's me for Apple)

Whew this brand talk—Digression Jones over here.

Oli, please don't joke about Linda being president one day... she's already too fucking stupid to run the Dept. of Education.

Watching these videos about the rise and fall of the Nexus remind me why I loathed Cena, Cole, and Lawler! Little fun moment was when you were talking about brands and kept saying add-e-das and I could not figure out what you meant until Luke said Adidas. Such a simple reminder that Brits and Americans may speak English but words do not always sound the same!

Let’s be honest guys. The best part of the podcast is TNA talk

Fleetwood Mac

Love hearing about immortal this weekend where hogan died cause that’s the hogan I was introduced to. Never saw 80’s hogan where he was super over or even nWo hogan was here he was “cool”. Just TNA hogan and all his stooges. I actually don’t understand the appreciation of a lot of those old attitude era legends quite because of their TNA runs throughout the 2010’s.
