If you are unable to participate directly, know that there is so much you can do to help that does not involve marching. Marching is important, but so is providing support.
Personally, I am conflicted. I want so terribly to make art and specifically games, but I am hounded by the incredible gravity of this moment. Every time I sit down to create, the voice in my head yells at me to get back to organizing. I am lucky to have so shallow a conflict.
I naively never thought I would see days like these in my lifetime. As a prison abolitionist, I never thought I would see the day where defunding the police was a slogan on the lips and signs of average Americans.
Despite it all, I haven't allowed myself any true optimism, yet. I am too scared for all the violence the state and corporate power elite still have up their sleeves. I fear we have only seen a sliver of it.
What should I do? I don't know. Keep organizing.
