T.U.M.U.S devlog #1
Added 2019-08-20 15:42:27 +0000 UTCI got an idea for a cute little game a long time ago after my first Organizer Training with the IWW. I'm calling it The Union Makes Us Strong, or TUMUS. This is the first devlog for it.

It all starts with You—a Worker! I like to model simple shaped characters like this, especially when they're supposed to represent human beings. This may or may not be a human. It's not important. I modeled it in my modeling package of choice, 3D Studio Max.

Here is the models for the main menu. It's a simple scene with a hilly landscape, a river, a factory and some workers. After cutting up the UVs I textured it all and it looks like this:

You work for the Kleggich corporation. I borrowed the term kleggich from my favorite book. What does the Kleggich corporation do exactly? I'm not sure, and you're not really clear on it either.
One thing is for certain, the company makes its workers miserable and it produces a lot of pollution!

Coding this was a lot of fun. Adding a bunch of little workers milling about was even more fun. I love coding simple AI like this.

Here's a close up shot of the little workers interacting and milling about before their workday begins.

As you can see, workers come in all shapes and sizes. They're unique individuals unified by their common cause.


It's up to You to organize your workplace and hopefully seize the means of production to not only improve the material conditions of you and your fellow workers, but also to heal the land and create a more sustainable system.
