Anyone doing the Wim Hof method?
Added 2017-05-11 11:55:32 +0000 UTCI've known about it for quite a while but I've been doing it consistently with 10 minute cold showers the past couple weeks. Couple observations I've made:
-Cold exposure (for me) is an excellent form of meditation because you have immediate feedback of whether you are meditating effectively. If you're properly focused, you're detached from the cold, if you're letting your mind drift to other things you're immediately notified by the cold that you're not focused. (Not a novel concept, Wim has talked about the cold being his "teacher," but now I better understand what he means)
-Pretty sure the veins on my arms are either larger or they just now always look like they do when I'm exercising. Surely due to the breathing induced vasodilation but I didn't expect it to be noticeable.
-I'm more resistant to the tinglies than when I first started. Now it takes a good bit of extra breathing to get to the same level of tingly-ness I would get near the start.
Anyone else noticed any changes or had made any observations on the breathing? Would really like to hear from you guys.
Have an awesome Thursday night (maybe thursday morning for most of you).

I first began something similar to the Wim Hof method while getting electrolysis. For those who may not know of it, and for the fewer still who have experienced it; electrolysis is tortuous. To sum up the multi-year experience; electrolysis is a form of very effective permanent hair-removal. Electrolysis involves the practitioner inserting a micro-dermal needle into the hair follicle, and quickly electrocuting the bulb. This leads to lysis, which is simply a fancy way of saying cell death. I can say from personal experience that being electrocuted a couple hundred thousand times on the more sensitive parts of my face is incredibly painful, and taught me to better appreciate mindful meditation. That's it for my little spiel on electrolysis, and how meditation helped me through pain.
