The New MCU Spider-Man Trilogy Should Be THE CLONE SAGA! (VIDEO SCRIPT)

Listen (pauses). LISTEN.

_________

Oh, Readers. You’re still here. Thank goodness. For a minute, I thought the title of this video scared you off

I say that because I know that what I’m proposing here is a bit of a “Oh HELL naw!” situation considering how long and convoluted the original 90’s arc was

/But, with the recent announcement of Sony’s Amy Pascal revealing that not only has their deal with Disney for more MCU Spidey-movies been extended for three more films, but that Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker for all three, we now have a means to explore a more mature and developed Spider-Man in another set of films in the MCU/

This upcoming trilogy -- currently deemed the College trilogy by the internet -- has the potential to cement not only a lot of “sacred timeline” variants of staple Spider-Man characters into the MCU...

But also do what No Way Home is supposedly doing by redoing an absolutely infamous storyline from the comics in a way that’s better executed and received, like it’s doing with One More Day.

And Readers, in my opinion, outside of One More Day, there isn’t a Spider-Man arc more deserving of a do-over in movie form than the 90’s clone saga

Because if you think about it, if both the rumors and what the internet is claiming things are gonna play out is true...

/Then the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home may provide the PERFECT stepping stone for the college trilogy to tell a more clear, cohesive and simple adaptation of one of the most convoluted story arcs in all of superhero comics/

So in order to understand how No Way Home opens the door for a clone saga-focused college trilogy for Peter, let’s take into consideration what’s happening here.

As we know from both the first and second trailers to No Way Home, a spell that Doctor Strange is trying to cast that would cause everyone to forget that he’s Spider-Man is interrupted by MCU Peter being MCU Peter

/Due to this interruption, multiple variant villains from Spider-Man centric timeline branches of the multiverse are finding their way to the sacred one, and Strange tasks Peter and his Amazing Friends to return the members of this multiversal Sinister Six minus one back to their respected timelines, before discovering that their demise in respected timelines are fixed points that have to happen/

MCU Peter objects to this being the only way to mend the veil of the multiverse, and tries to do everything in his power to save the lot of them instead.

And, if the rumors and what the Spidey side of the internet has been screaming since it was announced Jamie Foxx would be reprising his role as Electro is true...

/MCU Spidey will eventually be joined by Raimi’s Spidey and Webb’s Spidey to help fight the Sinister Six minus One and avoid any more multiversal bleedover into the sacred timeline in order for Doctor Strange to fix the tears before it's too late./

Now with that description of how things are playing out in No Way Home, and the fact that both the Raimi and Webb hero and villain variants kinda differentiate from the MCU’s sacred timeline counterparts...

/Y’know, with the exception of J Jonah Jameson.../

We have yet to see the TRUE MCU versions of a lot of the villains that’ll be presented in No Way Home

And thanks to Jacob Batalon’s Ned Leeds being a prime example so far, MCU versions of characters can be drastically different than their multiversal variants.

Which means just because the Raimi Green Goblin finds his way into the sacred timeline, doesn’t mean that an MCU Norman Osborn doesn’t exist somewhere, or that he’s even destined to follow the same path as his Raimi variant.

So what if the MCU variant of Norman Osborn -- who is more along the lines of the Lex Luthor type figure he is when he runs the Dark Avengers -- learns that a group of villains fought not one, but THREE Spider-Men?

And what if, in order to get a leg up on the competition provided by Mr. Gryphon...

/A Kang variant who owns the company Qeng Enterprises that found his way to the Sacred Timeline after the events of Loki and was revealed to be the one who bought Avengers Tower/

Norman played into his Ultimate origin a bit, and was inspired by the situation to want to create his OWN Spider-Men upon retrieving a blood sample of MCU Spidey after the Statue of Liberty battle?

This would require him to hire one of the worlds best geneticists to make a proper clone from the DNA in order to further research what makes Spider-Man tick. That geneticist would be Dr. Miles Warren; aka Jackal

It's through the cloning process of the DNA that Norman learns that Spider-Man is recent High School graduate Peter Parker, and sets him up to attend a state of the art university to keep a closer eye on him. Even going as far as to room him with his son, Harry Osborn.

And from there, you pretty much have all the building blocks you need to not only establish MCU versions of the characters more associated with Peter Parker and Spider-Man in order to go the college route -- both in previous films like the Osborn’s and characters we haven’t seen fully realized on screen yet like Felicia Hardy...

But also by putting into motion elements of the Clone Saga that could work out excellent for a trio of movies.

Such as the introduction of Ben Reilly and the Scarlet Spider, the creation of Kaine as either a first attempt of cloning Peter gone wrong or a second one Warren made in protest to Norman, or him deciding to go full Jackal and experimenting on himself until he gains his namesake, similar to how Emil Blonsky became Abomination in The Incredible Hulk.

This upcoming college trilogy provides so many great opportunities to right the wrongs the original Clone Saga initiated if No Way Home plays out the way everyone hopes it will

Now before you say anything, I’m just gonna answer this question right now, because I know its what you’re asking.

Yes. Part of the reason why I want to see the 90’s Clone Saga adapted on the big screen -- albeit loosely -- is because I want to see Ben Reilly and the 90’s Scarlet Spider costume done properly.

Congratulations. You solved the mystery. And I would’ve gotten away with it too if it weren’t for you meddling kids Scooby-Doo’ing this crap.

(Please, Scooby-Doo this crap)

And for those of you who say that we DID see the Scarlet Spider outfit in the form of Peter’s homemade suit, I must ask you: Have you learned NOTHING?

Remember Thor and how we THOUGHT we saw the Infinity Gauntlet and the Eye of Agamotto in Odin’s treasure room?

/Only for Hela to break in during Ragnarok and read the entirety of the room out for filth?/ (fake)

If anything, the homemade outfit could be a PLOTPOINT for a freshly hatched Ben Reily who thinks he’s the real Peter Parker

He finds the homemade outfit, gains access to some Oscorp technology to create a suit of his own that reverses its color scheme...

/Similar to the Stark tech Peter had access to in order to make his Act 3 suit from Far From Home.../

And Fin Fang Foom, you have the 90’s outfit MCU-ified, which is basically the way it was rendered for the first Insomnia game.

Also, I’ll just be honest with you; part of the reason why I want to see Kaine as a villain in the college trilogy is thanks to MCU Peter loving movie references, I wanna hear him quote this line from Robocop 2

(Cain! Let’s step outside)

But, I digress, Readers. Your homework assignment for the day:

Write in the comment section below if YOU wouldn’t mind seeing anything from the 90’s Clone Saga make its way to Spider-Man’s upcoming college trilogy

Or, if you feel like sharing with the rest of the class, a comic arc YOU’D rather see be used instead.

Ah, man. I just opened up a lot of windows for “The Other-slash-Madame Web” bullshit to blow in with that one, didn’t I? *Huffs*

E-Either way, I’d love to know your thoughts, I guess...?
