Dang James D’Amato is such a good DM. He really took what Bill Arnett made and built actual game mechanics to it and make it even better. Highly recommend “Campaign”—James does a great job with both comedy and DMing on that one too.

2025-05-21 02:56:56 +0000 UTCI really find it interesting how much towards the beginning of the episode they bring up how Arnie plays mythical characters despite the fact that that's not what the games about. I have always thought it is kind of ridiculous that Barney gets to play mythical characters and whatnot, I really think it'd be more interesting for him to play a more realistic character like everyone else it's not like everyone is actually acting in doing things that would be done in the real human world. Most people don't go around fighting their bosses with swords and whatnot for example. It's not as though being a normal human is going to constrain him very much but I feel like it would make the game more interesting because he would have more realistic experience. I kind of hope Arnie plays a regular human at some point.
