The New Guy Reaction

As far as I can tell, you're *still* the only person on YouTube to do a reaction to this movie. I really enjoy this one. I wasn't a blip in high school, but as a gamer I was definitely on the outside (this was back in the early 80s, long before being a gamer was cool), so I empathize with Dizzy/Gil. I love Eddie Griffin in this one. This and Undercover Brother. He's hilarious. Amazing list of cameos in this one. I loved Henry Rollins as the prison warden. But my favorite has to be Gene Simmons (of KISS) as the preacher preaching sexual abstinence. Irony off the scale on that one. There's a director's cut that has a couple of key scenes in it that I think do add to the movie, but were cut I guess for time or for keeping the flow going or something like that. There's a scene where Gil and Danielle have sex on the 50 yard line of the football field (at night, when nobody is around - tasteful scene, it's hinted at more than shown), and a scene where it's revealed that his dad (Lyle Lovett - perfect casting!) and the counselor lady got married and she's living with them in the motor home. On the flip side, though, the Patton bit was originally another Braveheart joke, and since they did Braveheart later in the movie, the Patton bit is definitely the way to go. So for me, the perfect version of this movie is the director's cut with the Patton bit spliced in.

"The Girl Next Door" is a good one that sort of falls in this lane... But also, more American Pie and Someone mentioned "Grind" earlier... Legit a core memory. Lol

I can see why ppl might like this but goddamn the humour doesnt hold up in todays time at all lol no wonder it only has a 3% rating in rotten tomatoes. Can't say it got many laughs out of me sadly, fingers crossed for the next one!
