The Monthly Billing Update
Added 2025-04-29 20:01:31 +0000 UTCHey hi folks! As discussed last month, my Patreon is finally being pushed over to monthly billing either next month or the month after. I double- and triple-checked with the Patreon staffer assigned to my case, and here's what this change means for you:
If you're a current patron who signed up via the Patreon website, practically nothing will change. You'll still pay on the first of the month as always, it's just that at some point you'll start paying for 1 Month instead of 2 Weeks + 2 Weeks like before. The total should come out to the same amount.
If you become a patron in the future via the Patreon website, it'll be the same as above, except you'll be charged monthly on the date you signed up instead of at the start of the month. I unfortunately have no control over that.
If you're a current patron who signed up via the Patreon app, Apple is overcharging you; you should cancel there and subscribe via the Patreon website instead. Please don't give an extra third of your money to an app store middleman.
If you become a patron in the future via the Patreon app, please don't! Set up your payment via the website instead. You can totally keep using the app afterwards if you want, it'll work the sameβjust don't pay there or Apple will overcharge you (none of that extra money makes it to creators).
