This is a 10/10 summary on why the reveal was such a big deal, not to us viewers, who already knew most of this, but to the world audience sitting there listening to Willy. It's also amazing to see how a lack of information on both sides has led to an immense escalation of violence. In season 3 our crew on Paradise didn't know what the heck was going on, so they had to use violence to push back the beast, colossal, and armor. Now in season 4, Marley is in the same boat because they have no clue about the conditions of the founding we learned in the last episode of season 3, so they choose to rally the entire world against Paradise.

Everything we know is still true, the eldians in the past were absolute monsters, dominated the world, etc. It's just the ending of the story that was fabricated. Until now, the world thought Marley and the Tybur's beat back King Fritz and his Titan to the island of Paradis, and Marley/Tybur told the world "they're still dangerous on the island. YES, we beat King Fritz, our hero Helos did it. But if we attack, the king will retaliate, so we must leave them alone." So for the rest of the world, they were intentionally lied to. As we learned in early seasons, King Fritz renounced war. Even if Paradis was invaded, he would never retaliate, and like WE KNOW, all inheritors of the founding titan will inherit this denouncement of war, at least all royal inheritors. But until now, the entirety of the world has been waiting for the Founding Titan to retaliate against the world, or have been waiting to invade because of the threat of the King (a threat we know isn't a threat, but a bluff). Willy has decided to reveal this truth to the world now because Willy knows the Founding Titan is no longer owned by Royalty who are bound to this denouncement of war. Eren Jaeger possesses the Founding Titan and is not being controlled by the King, which means the threat is REAL. There is no bluff, so long as a non royal possesses the founding titan the world is in danger, if Eren can ever find a way to control the 10's of millions of Colossal Titans. So Willy has finally revealed the truth, the big bad "evil" King Fritz was actually the reason peace has been held for the last 100 years, not because of Marley or the Tyburs, because Willy needs to rally the world to go to war with Paradis. The entire world now needs to band together and pool our resources and troops to kill Eren/the founding titan before the founding decides to destroy the world. Even if Eren was unquestionably the most morally upstanding person in the world, if there's even a .01% someone could destroy the entire world you gotta deal with it. But as we've seen, Eren's being a little sus-y or at the least unpredictable, enough of a wildcard that Willy needs to rally the other 99% of the world to get on this. 100 years of peace and world ending threat has been disrupted by Eren/Grisha stealing the Founding Titan from the only people who were 100% absolutely incapable of ever using them to attack the world.

2023-09-30 00:37:04 +0000 UTCI mean Marley did declare war on his people the island devils. War isn’t pretty. Maybe if Willy speech would have ended different I believe the outcome would have been different. Eren was just there seeing what would happen. Idk

2023-09-29 22:39:23 +0000 UTCEren did understand Reiner, it’s not that Reiner needed to break the wall, it’s that he WANTED to do so. To Eren, it validated his reasoning to “destroy his enemies” Yes there are good and bad people out there but in the end, the choices they make are theirs alone but all you can do is “Keep moving forward” which ironically is a lesson Reiner taught Eren.
