I disagree that it was the right time, nor was Floch speaking for everyone else. He wasn't elected to speak by anyone, he doesn't get to decide that every one of the 199 scouts who died would've had the same opinion as him, and his intention wasn't to remind everyone why they were there. He was lashing out because of his survivor's guilt. Floch didn't want to bring Erwin back because it was the "rational decision", he wanted to bring him back initially because he thought Erwin should have to bare the guilt of living like he does, and then because his way of coping with that guilt was to decide that the reason he alone survived was so he could "bring back the devil". Floch was just as emotional as everyone else and lashed out because he couldn't fulfill "his purpose" and therefore has no way to deal with the survivor's guilt. Floch doesn't know any of them well enough for him to be able to make the call on who should've been brought back. He didn't witness Erwin thanking Levi, or him giving up on his dream, or that Erwin hadn't had a goal beyond the basement. He didn't see Erwin call Armin "one of their greatest weapons", or witness how much Erwin trusted Armin's deductions. Floch was just as emotionally driven as everybody else.

Eren can't even bring himself to smile at the end there :( I also dont think he's really told anyone what his memories have been showing exactly, not in the truest details, nor his revelations regarding royalty. just burdening himself with it Also I think Floch picked the right time, personally. These people are all about to receive medals at this funeral, basically, so prior to getting their ceremony remind them about what it cost and what they did. And Floch is speaking for everyone else, and those who didn't make it, that they signed up at the behest of Erwin Smith, not to die for a close group of friends to make decision for all the other scouts based on their ties and emotions.

2023-09-19 15:22:40 +0000 UTCThe ending to S3 is so beautiful but also heartbreakingly bittersweet. Everyone, even Levi, is stunned by the Ocean and yet the person whose dream it was to get there, and the only reason anyone made it to that point, can't even enjoy the moment because you're tormented by memories and the truth of reality. Also the credits sequence for this episode has some interesting clips that we haven't seen before - I definitely recommend you go through them and take note of what the common theme/events are. Also yes, it was the third option with Frieda. Her frowning was her trying to overcome the vow and actually do something, and as soon as her brow smooths out her will has been taken over the King Fritz and his vow.
