You Can Swim!

Viari, the green Nargacuga, now has two paintings from me with either of their partners BreezyWuvsYou and in this case, AshTheOrca. In either image, Viari is "introduced" by their SO to that character's respective element. Breezy helps Viari fly from a mountaintop (sounds a little dangerous!) and in this one, Ash has jumped out of the water to hold on to Vi and willingly make a big splash. (Is that completely safe?)
We're all friends and so I could never have refused such a sentimental project. It was one of the things that I needed in order to motivate myself back to productivity. The thought of how they'd react, what it would mean between them privately, obligated me. I was often forced to take breaks, stretch and cool and massage my arms, and during those breaks I had this thing to look at and to shape in my imagination. Being forced away from the project, I’d lost touch with my original ideas - but still wanted to dig into why I was doing this art in the first place. That's why I played more with the application of colour: In its original state, the picture was more realistic, but the composition didn't quite flow. This way I found it more beautiful and more emotional. I want to work more closely with clients in the future to bring emotion and expression out, figure out better what is needed from an image and how me and the client can be on the same page more - not only with friends! :)
