Valez and the Glowing Oranges

What is necessary and what is excessive? What slows me down, makes me uncertain and unproductive? The more I think about it, the harder this question gets to answer. But I think I have once again been confronted with unproductive behaviour, and now it's on me to stomp on it and kill it with a dozen rapid strikes of my rusty little money trowel. Spiderman-newspaper-slap-style.

The figure fell into place within record time, save for the paw, but there was some sense of obligation now to make the background "something." After all it was supposed to be a higher end art piece! But woe is me, drawing things leaf by leaf shouldn't be the first thing that comes to mind. And the fiddling with the colours . . . well, yikes! Yikes indeed.

I like the colours, but noone can deny that the fullness of it weirdly contrasts with the subject at ghost-hand. The dragon is plain and smooth, the jungle is turbulent and moody. It's fertile, in that sense. I think I will at least want to know the goal before I embark on such a project next time.

I'll try and be faster with my next few pieces again :V I swear!
How many times will I write about it before it happens xD
