Sylver Seeker Announcement

TLDR-Chapters will now be posted more regularly/consistently but will be slightly shorter. The end goal is more bang for your buck for the patrons, more chapters, more material, and better quality since I'll stop stressing about the chapters being late all the time.

So the reason I initially started writing long-ass chapters was that I was worried there wasn't enough "stuff" happening in a single chapter to make a person satisfied when reading it. What ended up happening was the chapter-length kept growing and growing, down to the point I was writing two chapters and labeling them under one.

I like to think I've gotten better at writing, and better at pacing and the rest. And I can say with some level of confidence that the half chapters I write, and post on RR and SH have enough "stuff" for lack of a better word, for the readers to be satisfied when they read the chapter.

The downside of these double chapters was that I have trouble getting chapters out, because of a number of reasons that I won't bore you with. If the chapters are shorter, I feel like I can do more of them, and in a shorter timeframe, without decreasing the quality.

The end result of this is hopefully more chapters out per week/month and more bang for your buck for those that are subbed to this Patreon. Part of this plan is to increase the number of advanced chapters, and have a buffer chapter always ready in case something gets in the way. This isn't possible with the current big-ass chapters.

You've seen the "* ** *" in the middle of chapters, right?

That's whereabouts the chapter would end, and the next would start. I'll obviously be doing them slightly differently, now that people will need to wait more than a day for the next one, but I feel like this will work out for the better.

On top of all that, it will help out with mental health, because I genuinely do worry and stress whenever a chapter is late. Which in this case has been every chapter. I feel like I'll be able to write better if I'm not worried about being late.

Anyway, if you have any questions, feel free to ask, Patreon is a bit buggy with comments, so bear with me if I don't see it right away.  Discord is also an option if you want to talk it out.

Thank you for your time, Kennit Kenway

It will be regular, that's the whole point of this. As for what the interval will be, I don't know yet.

Kennit Kenway

So Kenny, for the foreseeable future should we expect one chapter per 1/2/3/5 days or will it be irregular?

sinra

I mean, if you get a nervous breakdown we *don't* get any chapters, so yea. Take care of yourself, we like your story.

Talespinner Lore

I agree, the story is great, but sometimes i can't follow what is happening in the fights. It probably is supposed to be a little chaotic but more indepth descriptions might make it more clear.

Your writing is Great! The Last chapters where just a little repetitive Bit that is Fine in the grand scheme of things. Mental Health always comes First !

I personally prefer the longer chapters, though honestly I didn’t even know you had deadlines. If it were me, I’d either spread them out more or get rid of them. I love more content at a time. Of course, I can talk about how much I love the longer yet less often, but it doesn’t matter. If what it takes for you to have better mental health is shorter chapters more often, do it.

Jake Chisholm

This, shorter chapters more often or longer ones less often, the big win is that it makes the author more comfortable and less stressed which is always a good thing :)

Aclys

So to sum up everyone: I like short, I like long, we don’t care as soon as the next fix comes along. You do you. You’re the author so long as you’re alive and well the story will write itself

Benjamin White

This announcement didn't have enough "stuff" happening. Not enough words.

P enyuk

If it makes you less stress, do it.

Zonk

The two side have both for and some vs Personnaly i dont care, im gonna enjoy in different way if you do short or long So its better you do it like it work the best for you so overall it get more good and you are more relax

Zarik0

I always like shorter chapters more often. Frequent updates help keep me from forgetting what's happening in the story. It's also nice to be able to read a chapter and eat a banana on my 15 minute break.

BluEarth

I’ll take it however I can get it, bb

Noon Martini

You could do that and easily bulk them up a bit with some prose. I do get sort of lost when reading your work and have to work out what I just read from the later paragraphs, but that might be a failing on my part.

I like the longer chapters. honestly, when I read it's a read. on other patreons it's like a skim. there's a differenece. your story is more centrelized than theirs and less adventure driven, so it makes more sense for it to be longer in my opinion.

thkiw

Sounds good! Like I tell some of my friends who are trying to make a go at writing, figure out what works for you first b/c if you're not happy it'll just affect the writing you put out.
