this song is so near and dear to my heart, i fell in love with it the second i listened to it. my sister and me both sort of live in each other's shadow to some extent. it was a big theme growing up, something that ended up driving a wedge between us both. 20 years later, it's much better. we're like, friends, i guess. but no matter how well our relationship has mended over the years, the knowledge of that sits unspoken between us, like jealousy and the pressure of expectations often does.
it was... unfortunately, very easy to write lyrics for this. haha.
