It’s time for Round 2 of our Member-Pitched Story Poll!
As you know, we’re shaking up the Sunday rotation with a little something different — short stories written by me, based on YOUR delicious ideas.

We had a fantastic response, and with 12 strong pitches submitted, we’re breaking them into three rounds of voting. The winner from each round will be written by me and posted on a Sunday sometime in late August or throughout September.

Same rules apply as last time:
✅ These are shorter stories (aiming for ~7K words)
✅ They’ll be one-shots, not long slow-burn series

🌅 Story 1: Egyptian Heat
Claire, a mid-40s project manager, has lived a life of quiet compromise — a fading marriage, a silent house, and years of doing what’s expected. One summer, she books a solo escape to Cairo. No tour groups, no cruise. Just her and the relentless Egyptian sun.
There, she meets Adnan — her guide. Calm, observant, magnetic. His quiet presence and warm eyes stir something in Claire she thought was long gone. Over days spent weaving through temples, museums, and quiet riverbanks, and nights spent behind shuttered hotel windows, Claire is pulled out of her polite silence. What begins as soft touches turns into an unforgettable, life-reawakening affair beneath the desert heat.

🏀 Story 2: 1st Round Draft Pick
Nicole, a married high school teacher, once had a star athlete named Jamal in her homeroom — a 6'8" phenom who always kept things respectful. A year after graduation, Jamal returns home, now a millionaire on the cusp of NBA superstardom. Nicole’s life is settled and content… but when Jamal shoots his shot, she feels her resolve waver.
Their connection explodes into a secret affair that pushes Nicole into a deeper craving than she’s ever known. Her husband soon finds out — but instead of rage, he’s left stunned and oddly aroused. A quiet deal is struck between the men behind her back… and when it’s finally revealed, Nicole doesn’t hesitate to take both of them. Especially when she realizes what she really wants… is to be bred.

🔮 Story 3: Year 2150: Enhanced Protection
In a future where elite super-soldiers protect society, Maria lives under the weight of a failing marriage and years of infertility. When her high-level husband Brian is sent away for work, one of these genetically-engineered giants — 7 feet tall, Black, calm and unreadable — is assigned to guard their home.
Maria doesn’t expect to be seen. Not by someone like Jerome. But his quiet strength, emotional steadiness, and impossible body begin stirring something raw and long-repressed. When a local blackout disables Brian’s surveillance, the tension breaks. One unforgettable night later, Maria is changed… and when Brian returns, he knows something’s shifted. Even if he can’t prove it. Especially when Maria begins to show.

🚪 Story 4: Gloryhole Mom
Jake follows a mysterious invitation to a local adult store, where he’s led into a dark backroom — and joined by three tall Black men. One by one, they’re beckoned through a gloryhole…but when Jake steps forward, a woman’s voice rejects him. “Not you, honey. You’re not the one we came for.”
After BJ's, the others disappear behind the wall, Jake is left alone — until he hears familiar voices moaning. His heart sinks. His mother. His aunt. Two of their friends. He watches in horror through the hole in the wall, as they’re taken one after another, his own rejection adding a humiliating twist to what becomes a night he’ll never forget — no matter how hard he tries.
