There's just no other character like Lestat, really. Just one of those classic foils for the hero - a vile sadistic killer, but so incredibly charming and funny that we can't help but like him. All his scenes with Louis just crackle, it's so good.

And I love this movie. I would never have imagined Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in those roles after reading the books, but they were perfect!
