2023-11-20 03:20:31 +0000 UTCI don't like baseball but I love this movie, and yeah it is entirely accessible as a sports movie without knowing anything about baseball - there isn't really even much baseball in it; I think that's one of the reasons it works so well - there are many levels on which you can enjoy this movie and get something out of it. On the money thing relatively speaking baseball is somewhat of a poverty sport, but I think baseball likes that about baseball, the numbers involved are really nothing compared to other professional sports. Sorkin had a great run of writing really excellent and substantial biopics for a while there, I think he lost his edge, but this, Charlie Wilson's War and Steve Jobs are really exceptional and unusual in their execution.
