This is a fun movie, but the thing to understand is that real sharks, especially great whites, don't really behave anything like this. People actually free dive with great white sharks with no problems. Peter Benchley, the author of the Jaws novel, and screenplay for this movie, has disavowed both novel and movie for the damage they did to sharks. Many people went out specifically to kill sharks after this movie as if they were the monsters they are made out to be in the movie.

2022-03-16 01:23:39 +0000 UTCThe first time I ever actually saw any of this movie I was like seven years old, and my cousin and (younger!!!) sister were watching it. And it was right when Quin slid down the deck and into the shark's mouth. I STILL can't watch this movie to this day, and will leave the room while it's on. Even with Dasha to distract me, I just can't (the same goes for ANY shark attack movie).
