May Update

Sorry if it's been a long while since the last post. I've been having a little trouble recently, with some things involving computer issues for both me and my art buddy, changes in plans, and a bunch of unforeseen problems. I understand if people aren't sympathetic, and I have no real excuses, and I will try to be more punctual in the future.

Over the past while, I've had to make a number of difficult decisions, change my plans for the future, and generally come to terms with a few things.

Firstly, Demon King Arena is a hugely ambitious project. In fact, looking over the plans again after making them and starting work on the game, the game is way too ambitious. Increasing the scope from the first game by over 7 times, the game will take a LOT of work to make, and much of that work is front-loaded, meaning that I won't be able to release any kind of alpha build without most of the game's assets already made, including backgrounds, sprites, CG, and other assets.

Now, this doesn't mean that I'll be quitting on the idea. I still want to make and release it, but upon reflection, it isn't the kind of project that I can easily start up on Patreon, nor something I should be making without a larger amount of support and funding.

Thus, I'm currently making Demon King Arena a smaller priority, and instead focusing on another short game that is more comparable in size to Demon King Domination. I'll be able to shift focus to larger, more ambitious projects if I can get more funding, or a more sizable following.


My reasons for doing so are the following:

- Voice acting is much easier for fewer characters.

- Fewer required assets make the game less front-loaded, so I can release alpha versions sooner.

- A smaller final version can be released sooner, allowing me to more quickly gain fans, funding, and resources for future games.

- Trying new things with a differently-themed game world may do some good in judging what our fans like.


Over the past weeks, I have been planning out and working on a new game idea, taking place in a new story universe, and with an entirely different premise. I plan to announce it soon, and give some details regarding it's story, characters and format.


The new game will have:

- A story based around a single heroine, and a male protagonist character who actually has visuals.

- A boss fight with five phases, using a new combat system.

- 7 endings, with unique erotic scenes, some using familiar kinks from DKD, and others using new ones like femdom, body transformation, and consensual romantic vanilla sex.

- A game script about twice as long as DKD's, with dialogue choices to determine certain routes.

- Full HD resolution, An original soundtrack, English voice acting, and all technical features Demon King Domination had.

- Ideally somewhere around 3 months of development time, so the game can have a final release sometime in August.


I'm still planning out specific details with my associates, but I assure you, work has begun on this new project, and I believe that in the long term, this refocus will be good for my future as a game developer.

I understand that this is a bit of a radical shift, and that not everyone will support it, but I ask that you please try to understand, and please continue to support me as I work to make games, support myself, and consider my future.

I became a backer because of Demon King Domination giving me faith in whatever you choose to work on--so however long before I see something for it, or whenever you feel the right choice is to shift focus, you'll have to screw up pretty bad to lose that faith. So I support the shift in focus, but also would have supported a long time to the Arena alpha build.
