“Bloody hell!”
‘Indeed,’ Sebastian mused, ‘Bloody Solomon’s demons…’
Both Sebastian and Filius were shook as they saw the troll wreaking havoc inside the girls’ toilet.
“How did this troll enter Hogwarts?” Sebastian asked, seeing the massive troll breaking the toilets.
“Protego!” Filius yelled, protecting Hermoine from being crushed by the troll’s club. “Confundus!”
Sebastian looked at Harry, talking with his eyes.
‘Don’t tell me that you brought this here.’ he asked, not talking but signaling.
Harry, however, just looked to the side.
‘Of course.’ Sebastian already felt a headache coming. But this also gave him a chance.
“Professor, may I take care of this?” He asked, but the professor didn't want to take any risk.
“No, this is too dangerous.” He said, “You take these children out of here.”
But Sebastian had another way.
“I have ancient magic that can face trolls.”
This immediately made the professor pause, stare at him then stare back at the troll.
“Still it is too risky.” He said, but Sebastian wasn’t just going to give up.
“You can always protect me if I make a mistake.” Sebastian said with a smile, a knowing smile. “But I was going try out this ancient magic.”
He knew very well how interested Filius was in Ancient Magic. He could almost see the professor drool at the mention of it.
“But do not risk your safety,” Filius finally broke, “And you all.” He frowned at the Gryffindor trio, “You have a lot of explaining to do. But for now, get out!”
“But prof–” Harry wanted to say something but was immediately stopped by Hermoine and Ron.
“Yes, professor.” The two nodded and immediately started to pull Harry out of the place.
This gave Sebastian the chance to ask Filius, “Professor, is there any magic or charm that lets someone control an element for a specific period of time?”
Filius shook his head, “There are specific spells to use elements but not to control or bend elements per say.”
“Perfect.” Sebastian grinned, “I will show you a magic that allows for a wizard to bend elements for a specific period.”
The confundus charm still kept the Troll confused, unable to balance itself.
As for Filius, he was shaken up. He understood what Sebastian was insinuating.
“You can’t mean…”
“Fire.” Sebastian said, and immediately flames conjured at the tip of his wand, “There is magic that can allow for the bending and control of elements.”
Of course, he wasn’t going to explain how. He already lied by saying that this was a time bound magic.
In truth, it could be used as long as the Wizard was conscious.
“Fire has heat and even if you don’t make it explode, it can still cause a lot of damage.”
Saying this, he caused the fire to swirl around the troll, making it swing its hammer uncontrollably –being burnt in the process by the fire.
“How…” Filius had his eyes wide open. “How is creating and manipulating fire possible? Without spells… without charms…”
Sebastian smiled, demonstrating the skills to the professor.
“One can even increase or decrease the intensity.” Saying this, he made the fire soar higher and the heat increased –causing the troll to scream.
He didn't feel anything in hurting the troll. To him it was a monster, not a human, not even an animal.
“You can do a lot.” Immediately, the fire that had been burning in a ring, flew upwards. “You can do anything.”
The fire turned into a sphere, still burning, still vicious.
“This can kill.” Sebastian said and Filius could not deny. In a way, he saw how strong ancient magic was and in another he saw the potential that Sebastian had –the power that the boy possessed.
And even, maybe the lack of empathy that he had.
“But no.” He stopped and immediately the fire extinguished, making Filius a little sad that it ended so early. “We don’t want to kill it.”
Of course, he was still a child. Filius knew that he wouldn’t kill anyone. That could scar even the brave.
“That would be a waste.”
But Sebastian’s reasoning was different.
“We can do a lot more tests by not killing it.” Sebastian said, instantly creating another element. “Like this.”
“Lightning…” Filius had his jaw dropped.
First fire and now lightning, the boy was showcasing insanity.
“One does not need spells, at least not every time.” He explained, “Like there is no spell that can do this.”
As he said that, Filius saw the lighting moving towards the burnt and confused troll –immediately making it jump like a clown.
“Electricity, at least a form of it, is even found in the body.” Sebastian said, “And if one can control electricity, they should also be able to do this.”
The troll made weird motions, motions that no troll made. Jump, dance and act like it was being forced to.
“What are you doing?” Filius asked, completely invested in the show –forgetting about the troll being tortured
“By making the electricity hit at certain spot, certain nerve ending we can make beings like trolls move how we want them to move.” The youngster explained, “By doing this, we can make it dance according to our will.”
Of course, he wasn’t going to explain how. But he gave the basic idea.
So, that even if it was with the use of spells or something else, maybe Filius could replicate it
And besides, he was golly when he got a certain idea. And that idea was exactly why he was showing his skills to Filius.
He wanted something in return, something that Filius was definitely going to give him.
“Magic is truly beautiful.” Sebastian said, making the troll dance funnily.
He laughed, “But I believe that is enough torture for the troll.”
As he said that, Filius finally came back to his senses.
“By Merlin! It's a bloody mess!”
And it was. The troll was half burnt, there were cuts on multiple places from the electric strikes and blood was oozing out from it.
But Sebastian had ways to fix that.
“While the previous magic was something I cannot teach you, mostly because it is deeply engrave inside a wizard’s magic pool and also it happens to be a family magic,” Sebastian smiled, “I can give you this spell.”
“Healus!”
The troll, that was badly burnt found himself comfortable and feeling good in seconds. The injuries it had healed themselves, closing and stopping the blood.
“Grandfather did not teach me, I stole this spell from him.” Sebastian said, recalling the time that Salazar used it on him and he memorized it.
And then, he gave one final smile. “But we cannot leave a troll running around either, can we?”
Filius immediately understood what he had to do.
“Stupify!”
And instantly the jinx knocked out the exhausted troll.
“I hope that was an acceptable display, professor.”
‘Acceptable?’ Filius was at a loss for words.
Because to him it wasn’t just acceptable, it wasn’t just impressive.
That magic… was magical.
…
…
“By Merlin, what a mess!” McGonagall groaned, “Minus five points to Gryffindor!”
“But professor–”
“Quiet, Potter.” Snape said, striding towards the bathroom besides Minerva and the Gryffindor duo. “You had lost your right to speak that moment that troll entered the bathroom.”
“Harry and Ron helpe–”
“You too, Miss. Granger.” Snape said, “You fall in that same category.”
And seeing that Ron was about to say something, Snape decided to add.
“Any more mumbling and another five points will be taken from Gryffindor.”
This was Snape being generous. If he was in his usual mood, he would not have warned but taken the points from Gryffindor by now.
They all hurriedly rushed to the bathroom, smashing open the door but only to be met with a chattering duo.
“Professor Flitwick,” Minerva said, “I am glad you got to these fools on time.”
She knew Filius was there, but she still had to come as a responsible staff.
“Ah, Minerva.” Filius smiled, “You just missed a once in a lifetime show.”
This confused everyone, “Pardon?”
They initially thought that the professor was talking about him showing off his skills.
But as they saw him staring at Sebastian, they knew that everything had to do with the heir of Salazar.
“And for that display!” Filius announced, “I reward Slytherin with ten points!”
And just to clear everyone’s confusion, he made sure to add–
“For showing the capabilities of ancient magic and defeating a troll!”
And that was enough for the other professors to curse their luck for being tardy.
