My favourite Classic Rock song of all time! Never changing, it is full of sooo much. A story telling many stories full of temptation and sin. Eagles greatest hits album is a classic one

We were supposed to go to go to dinner with them awhile back but my grandma ended up getting really sick and had to go to Hospice so it never happened. Like you were saying, we tend to become enslaved to that which initially seems pleasant, yet turns out unfulfilling or devastating. We can check out or in other words, “give up”, but we can never escape. I’d just like to rebuttal w/ that is what Jesus came to break us free from is our “vices” or sinful nature.

You can check out (die) any time you like, but you can't ever leave (can't quit the addiction). Also the lusty woman is the drug that leads you to addiction. 3. A descent into Depression. You can check out (have times that you feel okay) any time you like, but you can't ever leave (cant get rid of depression completely). 4. The Church of Satan. Opened in 1969 (like the wine in the song) in a Hotel in San Francisco California. The "Master's Chambers" scene is an animal sacrifice during which you sell your soul to the devil. You can check out (you can leave the Church) any time you like, but you can't ever leave (never get your soul back). It's fun to listen to the song with these theories in mind separately each time you listen. It's like a different mental movie every time lol.

Here is an example. “The band members themselves have offered a variety of different explanations for the meaning of “Hotel California.” They’ve said it’s a socio-political statement. They’ve said it’s about darkness and light. And they’ve said it’s about the self-destruction that comes from greed and hedonism.”
